broad jump - 5 attempts, best jump 85"

then sumo deadliffin' - in my beastmodal domains "STFU and lift some s###" shirt.

160x3 - 215x2 - 265x1 - 295x1 (PR) - 300x1 (YES)

weighed myself this morning to make sure I hit my 2x bodyweight goal - and at 146.6lbs I definitely did. SO HAPPY with this.

metcon: 50 burpees to a 45# plate, for time. 3:12.

Officially past my one-year mark of crossfit, and finally met my 6/30/2012 goals (one of them a month late), so figured it's a good time to set some new ones.

current numbers - at 147lbs bodyweight:
Back squat: 98kg/215lbs
Deadlift: 300lbs (sumo)
Front squat: 83kg/183lbs
Strict press: 87lbs
Clean: 60kg/132lbs
Clean & jerk: 58kg/128lbs
Snatch: 40kg/88lbs (power snatch - squat snatch holding at 37kg/81lbs)
Pull ups unbroken: 5 strict, supinated grip; 4 strict, pronated grip; 10ish kipping (butterfly and regular are about the same here)
Pull ups, weighted: +12.5lbs (I think - been a while)
Handstand pushups, unbroken: 3 kipping (hands/head on floor), 5 kipping (to an abmat with 25# plates)
Ring dips unbroken: 2 (UGH)
Muscle ups: ZERO
Fran: 6:30

Immediate goals: maintain basic strength levels while continuing to focus on improving my olympic lifts. Continue to work on my real goats (pistols, consistent DUs). Start focusing more on bodyweight stuff in general - muscle ups, ring dips, pull ups, handstand pushups. Make sure to get in at least three metcons a week - even if I have to start running or something like that to make sure it works out timing-wise - so that my conditioning doesn't suffer while I'm continuing to make barbells a priority.

planned to come in and work on DUs, but got stuck at work late. decent night at oly anyway.

OHS warmup - 33x5, 53x3

snatched up to 41kg - a 1kg PR, and about freakin' time. it wasn't the prettiest lift ever but i made it twice, so i'll take that. i had far fewer misses in my progression as well, and was able to at least ride things down every time.

then clean & jerk - stayed light since i have a formidable clean & jerk ladder at the team competition on saturday. 35x2 - 40x2 - 45x2 - 48x2 - 51x1 - 54x1 clean only, was really loose and failed the jerk - 54x1 easy - then back down to finish at 50x1.

tomorrow will be rest - maybe just some stretching and pull ups/dips - and then competition saturday.

7/28 - stole this structure from Angie's log.

Cfg Summer Slam Competition*

CFCC A : Arrus, Lux, Reid, Morgan, Chrissey, Angie

Wod 1:
12 min Amrap sled pull 200#*
Starting with 200 m plate run
And each member has to do 100 du in the 12 min (1 person working)*

Score : 1st place .....1224 lbs moved (well 1400 but minus 176 for unfinished du in time cap)*
We pulled heavy loads 1st when fresh. I feel like I really dragged out on my double unders - I had a few sets of 10-15 but nothing more, and a few sets where I missed the first one.

Wod 2:
Clean and Jerk ladder*
Girls 75-165
Guys 155-245

Score : 1st place - 1190 lbs*

did about how I expected to do - power cleaned everything up to 135lbs, pressed out a bit on the 135lb jerk. this was about a 2-3kg PR for my clean & jerk and a 1kgish PR for my clean, so that's OK. missed the clean on 145 twice - big pull, couldn't rack it. 135 was pretty solid and it was far from a given, so I'm happy with that. REALLY fun watching Morgan kill 155lbs and Angie and all the guys run the ladder.

Wod 3 :*
400 m run
300 box jumps (22,24,28)*
400m*
300 oh swings *(35,45,55)*
400 m run*
300 goblet squats (35, 45, 55)*
400 m run

This was just awful. We ran the 400s slow as balls, because none of us are particularly strong runners. Did 24" box jumps, 1pood kettlebell swings and 1pood goblet squats. My lower back was screaming on the runs and the squats...probably time for a new sports bra

Score : Finished 8th (meh meh)*

Wod 4:
4 part couplet
Part 1:
Girls-100 snatches at 75#
Guys- 100 CTb Pullups*
Part 2:
Girls - 100 Pullups*
Guys - 100 snatches at 115#*
Part 3:
Girls - 100 cal row
Guys-100 wallballs
Part 4:
Girls - 100 wallballs
Guys - 100 cal row

We broke the snatches into 5s which worked for us. Pullups Into 4-5 (I must say though our sets were small we were efficient), rowed with little to no strategy and then banged out the wallballs in sets of 10. Wallballs were definitely my goat here - I had at least 10 no-reps and never hit a rhythm.

Score: 2nd place

Overall: 2nd place !*

this was a LOT of fun, and I am wiped out. Glad to be home with a beer and a gigantic steak.

7/29 - rest. met Amber and Meghan at the gym for brunch - spent a good 30 minutes foam rolling with Amber while waiting for Meghan to finish up with oly.

7/30 - slept like butt (maybe 4 hours non-consecutive), then 6am drop-in. Back squat, sets of 3: 115 - 145 - 165 - 175 - 185. I may have been able to make the last two sets 180 and 190, but between some lingering creakiness from Saturday and getting terrible sleep, I had no interest in being a hero today.

Metcon: 3 rounds of 60 seconds back squat (pick your weight -275/225/165/135/95/65); 60 seconds supinated grip strict pull ups (again pick your weight (+45/+25/+10/Bodyweight/Band); 30 seconds jumping lunges for quality, 30 seconds rest. Score is total reps back squat + pull ups.

Score: 49 reps, with 135lbs/bodyweight. I stayed consistent and did not push this in the slightest - splits were 11/6, 10/6 and 10/6.

Metcon - 2 options, one fast/light, one longer/heavier
I chose "heavy." 8 rounds 3 power cleans (225/135), 8 chest to bar pull ups, 8 burpees.
Scaled to 105lbs - 5 rounds in 13:45ish.

Cleans never felt heavy but the c2b killed me. First round did butterfly kips and then totally lost my rhythm. Did mainly singles after round 2ish. Hand tore towards end.

8/2 oly

weird night.

OH squat to warm up - 33x5, 53x5

snatch
24kgx2 - 29x2 weird - 32x2 (good, power) - 35x2 (powerish, miss) - 35x2 (power - rode both down) - 37x1 good, 1 miss - 37x1 (ugly power) - 38x2 miss, 38x1 miss, then ended with 5 really good, solid squat snatches at 38kg.

then clean & jerk was kind of a disaster
40x2 - 45x2 slow elbows - 45x1 good - 50x2 - 53x1 - 53x1 - 55 miss - bar felt like it was about 12 feet in front of me - 55x1 - 55x1 miss, pulled w arms - back down to 47x1 (real slow), 47 miss (LOL WUT), 47x1 slooooow, 50 miss, 50x1.

then pendlay rows - 35x5 - 38x5 - 40x5 - 42x5.

this week has been so weird.
