Re: 365# Clean and jerk

Matt - I'm looking to open around 140/160, I would be really happy to total 310ish. Low 300's should win it.

John - My programming is mostly based on my intuition when I walk in to the gym. I know what things are going to go well and what things aren't once I start warming up. Recently I've only been doing snatch, clean and jerk and backsquat. My last 10 days looked like this:

M Snatch 130, CJ 150, BS 190, 180x2x2
T Snatch 135, CJ 155, BS 190, 180x2x3
W CJ 160, Clean 164, BS 193
R Snatch 135, CJ 160, BS 190, 180x2x3
F Snatch 140, CJ 160, BS 190
S BS 195
S Snatch 135, CJ 160, BS 190
M Snatch 140, CJ 160, BS 190
T Snatch 130, CJ 160, BS 195
W CJ 166, BS 197

As for daily habits I try to eat and sleep well. Close to paleo (although PR pancakes are a big part of my diet lol) and usually 8hrs of sleep. I ice my back 2-4 times a day just to keep it fresh. Other than that I go to school and coach for a few hours each. I live a pretty stress free life and that certainly helps. If you want to know anything else let me know!

Jake,
Thats pretty much what I was inquiring about. So much for gains made from variation. Just to follow up, are you solely doing the lifts cause you are this close to the meet (aside from going by feel)? Or to put it another way, why arent you doing a lot of pulls, or DL, or other variations? Maybe cause Im a noob, is why these variations seem to be working to break plateaus? Thanks a bunch.

Joey,
I think the oly off season is 1 (maybe 2) month after the summer of 2016.
