Cannot straighten leg.

I've been dealing with quadricep tendinosis for several months and have been left with a permanent knee angle fault. I've seen a reputable PT and he concluded that I was not missing terminal knee extension (tested on flat ground, no angle when lying down), although could not provide a diagnosis as to what might be causing this. My uneducated guess is that either the quad tendon has thickened/pulling excessively on the muscle group or there is something going on with my pelvis. Any ideas? For what it's worth, if I take my fingers and pull up slack near right above the knee and apply rearward pressure, I can place it into the "proper" position, but then it reverts back to this.

Re: Cannot straighten leg.

so you are saying when you lie flat your knee is flat or you have to fight to get it flat? and when you are standing it bends on its own? is there pain involved when you try to straighten it?

Re: Cannot straighten leg.

When I lie on the ground it's flat, only when standing does it revert to this newly default position. Although it's canted forward the knee itself is at end range; if I try to push back on the knee itself it won't go anywhere, but as I mentioned if I manipulate the area of the quad tendon/suprapatellar pouch I can move it back into the proper position, which allows me to appropriately generate "torque" on that leg.
