Ankle Pain, Followed by Knee Pain

Hey all. My left ankle, on the outside, just above the foot, started hurting. I've had pain here before, but not this long-lasting. It's worse in the morning.

I was able to overcome the pain, and it subsided with a warm-up, but I think it limited my squat mobility. I did a high rep, low weight, WOD involving backsquats, and the next day, came down with knee pain in the same leg.

The pain is nonexistent until I squat below parallel. Even if lying on my back, I can bend my knee completely without pain, but in a full airsquat, the pain and tightness is there. It's on the outer middle of the lower knee, just below the knee cap. Not on the outside of the knee, but just left of the midline of the left knee cap.

What's going on here? What should I do?

Thanks.

Joe
