Re: 2014 45-49 Fittest on the Planet goal

Thursday- announcement at the gym. Wow those standards are rough. Extending to the tape line can't move too far away from the wall.

Did some practice and then went thru my head who's going to do what, how fast slow I should go.. etc.. some people's tape line going to be low, bro reps.. then settled into I will do fine and I'm only trying to have fun and get back into things for next year.

About 40 reps filmed of the hsup
DL- 135x10, 225x10, 275x5, 315x5x3.

GHD, rowing my meters..

Active day of working out recovery. Mental tough day.

Saw my buddy struggle to get 113 reps and he is good at these things.

I will just have to stay fresh on the HSPU breaking up the sets with small rests. Steady on the deadlifts then let the clutch out on the 315 and hs walks.

Friday- Going in tonight for more practice on the hspu, do my check in on the rest of the exercises on the list of whats left. See about the snatch.

Saturday maybe go in and have fun and do the partner workout.
Sunday- stretch and row the boat.

Monday 3PM hit it.

I don’t think this will be a problem for you Vic if you don’t rush the reps. I have been looking at quite a few videos on the leaderboard and I can say the amount of “bro reps” is amazing, either that or they need glasses. I don’t think the standard is the problem it’s as you said it’s getting close to the wall.

As long as you don’t almost go to failure you should be fine. The DLs are no problem for you.

This is a first for me with HSPUs but even I could meet the standards even if I didn’t get that many (yet) I know you got this in the bag.

Why worry about me Vic. I can just about hit 5ft handstand walks and the rest is easy

Went easy today and got a decent score, will take some risks on my redo. Need a miracle this year now anyhow. 18.2 finished me.

Re: 2014 45-49 Fittest on the Planet goal

Friday- normal warm up. Takes about 20 min.

Dead lift felt good - 45,115, 165, 215, 265, 315, 345
Rested a bit and hit some more 225 for some reps.

Practiced on film some hspu- have some limited mobility. But was able to hit my mark on 90% of them going medium speed.

Did some more glute ham raises and some ghd, t2b, hs walks, rowed about 3k.

Thrusters- sets of 7 45,75,95,115,135 then went one long set of 7 each with only the rest of taking off the 10's with no collars.

Mostly cheered on people, coached the coachable peeps and judged some of my favorite people.. So happy for them. Such amazing transformations in 1 year or less of CrossFit.

Saturday- long warm up and my talk with Ned. The happiest and very successful person.

Squat snatch- was hard to get everything put together. Alot of misses. Basically in 10# increments 75-185#.

More practice of HSPU and the new standard. My hands more where I usually do them. Concentrate on my feet pointed towards the ground, my legs straight and tight and my head punches thru as much as possible. I have some mobility issues with my head and shoulders. Got a little more positive and motivated with today's session. Should be good. I am good at the lighter reppy deadlifts and hspu. 315# will be heavy but will get it. My hs walks are usually trustworthy. Going out med to fast 1st set, 2nd set just by feel but med and 9's will be slow and try to recover for the 315 set. We will see from that point. No reason why I will not have fun and have a good score.

Rowing- this time fast.
Added up to 3k worth of rowing.

Did a 1:40 500 meters. Need that pace for a 1k.

Chilled, cleaned up then off to my home project.. Making a deck on top of my hill. Will be a great view.

Re: 2014 45-49 Fittest on the Planet goal

Sunday- warm up usual one. Rowed easy. Mobility. 2800 meters.

Went to meet my daughter in Temecula to see a movie.

Then came home and worked on the hill top outdoor deck.

Chilled night for sure.

Re: 2014 45-49 Fittest on the Planet goal

Monday- got a good nights sleep yeah!

Got to the gym at 12:30 and warmed up the hammies and the shoulders. Normal warm-up.

Filmed the hspu on the line so that I could get the feel. I don't know why I react to change and worry if it will effect me so negatively. Wondering who will do what, what will I do, too fast, too slow, too low, no reps, my judge.. etc.

I do miss having a coach who helps with the details.

Anyway the 225 and the 315 felt fine. I was firing the hspu just fine.

Got my pre workout in and was ready to go. Coach Kyle counted for me.

3.2.1. go-
21 dl- 225 14/7 felt good
21 hspu- 15/6
15- dl 10/5
15 - hspu 10/5
9- dl 5/4
9- hspu 6/3
Usually you do this workout as fast as possible. The reps are strung together and the standards are low.
Wanted to do 4 min but took 4.5.

Well enter 315# that ate my lunch. First half was fine but then got heavy fast- 5/5/4/3/2/2 or so. Took over 2.5 min or about 1/3 of the time.
First hs walk fell over in the first 5' funny hs walks are my jam. A few seconds to recover then 25' turned around waited a few seconds then 20/5'.

Had about :40 but for the 15 dl of 315 did not have it. Got 2/1/1/1/1. Score of 127.

If I were to do anything different I would have gone faster on the Diane in order to have more time.

Gotta work on those fatigues reps of dl's. That was the log jam. I really thought that I could do better but the training has not been regular and my strength program.. what strength program?

Happy to move up about 17 spots. If I can move up 10 or more then near the first page.

We will see how 18.5 works out. Seems as C2B, wall balls, thrusters, snatch, s2o, lunges, clean and jerk and box jumps.. maybe a crazy mash up of 7 rounds of 7 reps each. Box owners not dream!

Went home after and worked on my hill top deck. What a view!

Re: 2014 45-49 Fittest on the Planet goal

Tuesday shorter warm up and rowing.

Did some wall balls about 40 of them in sets of 10.
Did some c2b wide grip. Felt really good. About 50 or so reps.

Finished my meters of rowing. Really was not up to working out much. We will call is active recovery.

Went home and had some friends over. Catching up is fun!
