August 12th
I will be doing a modified week from the program I'm on to wrap it up before my competition this saturday. Today I worked up to my snatch opener, and maxed out my clean and jerk. August 17th
2013 Blue Mountain Open - Results Place: 1st Snatches: 69kg, 74kg, 79kg C/J: 89kg, 94kg, 98kg Sinclair: 240 Video (WFS): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fheq6iChP7s Recap So I planned to sleep at 8pm and wake at 5am. Lay in bed until 12:30am when I fell asleep. Woke up, drove 1.5 hours north, and weighed in at 68.0kg. Had 2 eggs and some gatorade, and started warming up my snatch. 20kg 40x2 50x1x2 55 60 66 (Was thinking of opening at 71 but decided against it because my arms unlocked/relocked here) Made all 3 attempts, which was nice. 2lbs. under my PR on my last attempt. Because they were running late, there was no break to warmup for clean/jerk's. I hit: 20kg 50x1x2 60 70 78 84 Warmed up a little too fast, and had about a 10 minute break before my 1st attempt. Made all 3 attempts, although my clean (and moreso my jerk) need some technique work. Because the sessions were based on entry total and not by weight class, the award for 1st was given to the highest sinclair total. I hit 240, and I think 2nd place was 227-ish? Overall, an awesome day, and I met some awesome people. Looking forward to next competition! |

Those lifts look very, very good for a 1st competition. But, man it is hilarious to see you drop the bar like you do in your garage! You know you can let go of the bar, right? Anyway, nice job.
