Caber Toss, any takers? What do you use?

I am thinking about implementing a Caber Toss into my training, but am unsure of what material to use and the proper size/weight.

Do any of you guys/gals do this? If so, what are the specs of your Caber? I think the real ones weigh around 100 pounds, but I know I don't want to use that kind of weight. I am not looking to build bulk, as I am a runner/mountain biker/climber and the bulk would get in the way. I just want to tone and improve definition.

I am really just looking for ways to make my neighbors think that I am crazier than they thought I was, haha. They love to see me outside training. Thanks.

I am not sure why people are so dedicated to showing their a$$ on this forum. The OP asked for CFitters' experience and thoughts; that is not something that the OP would likely find via Google. I mean why dont we just respond to every post on this forum with a smart a$$ comment about google or the search function?

Hey Louis;
Take a pill and relax.

Per the OP

I provided a link that gives him the material and spec's, problem with that?
There are better sites that will provide that information, don't you agree?
Since your time on the site, see much info on Highland Games or questions as to Highland Games.?

Search is powerful and cuts down on off topic or often repeated topics, plus it gives the OP instant info along with past posts from people that aren't posting anymore.

and BTW, 99% of pending questions have already been answered. If these boards closed for a few months and the archives were active, you could find your answers just fine.

Brian,

Not sure if you're still checking this thread. But I compete in the Highland Games and we train with cabers on a regular basis to prepare for the Games. We have cabers as light as 45 pds up to 165 pds. We use actual trees that we chop, debark, and sand.

You could very easily train with a caber and get to huffing and puffing.

Brian, I realized this video was still up.

A few more tosses and it might have been worthy of a crossfit workout if you'd have added in 400 meter sprints and pull ups in between tosses.

Haha, that was wild. Looks like a great workout to integrate one of these days. Thanks for posting this.
