Anyone ever try Shamrock Farms' Rockin' Refuel protein fortified milk?

I tried this for the first time a couple of weeks ago and it was so tasty!!!
http://www.shamrockfarms.net/rockinrefuel.asp (WFS)
It is a little high in sugar but I know milk has become/has been popular as a recovery drink so I decided to see if I could play with a mix of Rockin' Refuel, Whole Milk and maybe even some Whey Powder.

6oz of Rockin' Refuel + 4oz of whole milk = 225 cal and 3.5 carb blocks, 2 prot blocks and 2.2 fat blocks.

Being that I would use this within 5 minutes of working out I think the high carb inbalance is fine but I wanted to up the protein a litte bit so I added a half a scoop of this whey protein: http://www.gnc.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2944029 (WFS)

End product is 260 cals of 3.7 carb blocks, 3.4 prot blocks and 2.6 fat blocks....its also very tasty!!!

Follow that up with a normal meal with more fat and I think I found my new favorite recovery drink and routine.

Thoughts/experience?

Rockin Refuel has 20g of protein in a 354 ml serving. a pint of regular milk (470mls) will give you over 20g of protein, as will a pint of any bog standard chocolate milk. Save your money.

meh! Milk is great and I am 1/2 GOMADing right now but it is relatively low in protein compared to the carbs and fat. Right after a workout I like to get a higher concentration of carbs and protein compared to fat. This is a simple, delicious and inexpensive (the concoction I described is just under $1) way to achieve that.

do you not find it problematic to compare 1 pint of milk to 12oz of Rockin Refuel? What else do you get with the 1 pint of milk. Despite the fact that I am a believer of milk and 1/2 GOMADing I am also concerned about Zone ratios and timing certain macronutients for different parts of the day.

add whey to your milk if you need more protein.

drink bog standard chocolate milk if you need more sugar --> protein ratio.

but if you really want to waste your money, then drink these amazing beverages!

No I don't think it's problematic at all. I'm saying by drinking a little more milk you get the same amount of protein as you do with you expensive supplement and without the additional fructose, carrageen, salt etc.

Add chocolate syrup if you wants carbs and taste and whey or milk powder if you want protein. It will still be cheaper. Milk is highly insulinogenic as is.

2% milk has the perfect zone ratio according to Sears.

If it tastes good, and you don't mind the cost, then by all means chug away. It's just that it's no better than something you can buy in any corner store or concoct at home.

You asked for thoughts and you've got mine.

Louis;

You ask for advice, you get advice. If you've been on the boards or have done some reading of past threads, most think additives are junk and a waste of money, why, because the body really appreciates real food. Real food does the body good, good raw milk or even just plain old chocolate milk does the body really well and it's cheap.

You want to spend money on supps, go for it, but when you ask advice, then proceed to argue, well, game on and good luck.

Some feisty strong people on these boards that really have it dialed in.
