After a week of intense training at my level it became apparent I had to up it! Was cajoled and tortured by Keith of NYC (after completing the NYC WOD)to finally do a lousy pushup w/ knees off the ground. Well I knocked off 3. Later I figured what the heck and tried again--then I knocked of 4 sets of 5! I cant believe I finally did it! Wait til we get the pullup bars in NYC and my rings come at home!

Sweeet! Feels good to be able to control your body like that doesn't it!? Keep it up, you'll be knocking off pull-ups too! Push-ups with rings will add some extra instabilty when you're ready to try those. I can perform about half as many ring push-ups as regular ones.

Well done Sarena! Congratulations.

Now you can go nuts and start doing pushup pyramids to build volume ;)

Thanks Jeff and Sam. What are pushup pyramids?
BTW, the triceps are so sore this morning. I woke at 4 am to apply some china gel...went back to bed dreaming of pushups.....

i think pushup pyramids are where you increase the reps every set, and the go back down:

1-2-3-4-3-2-1

or

1-2-4-8-4-2-1

i dunno if they help more than just doing push-ups, if you're a beginner, tho.

ha, i remember the first time i did back squats to the proper depth...i had so much trouble walking, the day after. :crutch00:

anyway, keep at it, sarena! : D

Congratulations!!! These milestone acclomplishments are what keep us going some times, i think. It is always fun to shed some quality sweat just for the sake of it, but reaching real and tangible goals is the greatest reward, in my opinion. Keep working
