CrossFit coach income??

Im not sure if this is the right section to post this in, but on average what and how do CrossFit level 1 coaches get paid? It would be in a box. Are they hourly, comission off of classes, comminssion of clinets?

Any advice on this would be great. Thanks guys!

we pay our level 1 trainers $20 per class they teach.

We pay based on class size and experience.

1-4 $15
5-8 $17.50
9-12 $20

and so on up to a max of $40.

This is the base rate for a new coach. As they gain experience, specialty certs, etc the base rate bumps to either $17.50 or $20.

Is there any "floor hours" or is it only classes?
What do they do when there are no classes at the time?
Are most trainers part time or full time?
Do they get any benefits?

Im thinking of making the transition from training here at a globo gym to box. Im just not sure if I will need a second job for income.

I'm sure most boxes will let you bring in your current globogym clients and train them for one on ones for a percentage (which is most likely much better than what your globo is taking) as long as it doesn't interfere w/the classes.

Trainers start at $20 per training hour, and we bonus if the facility hits our monthly financial goal of income collected.

As for your other questions:

What do they do when there are no classes at the time? Whatever they want - Work out, grab a bite to eat or sneak in a nap, run errands, it's their free time.
Are most trainers part time or full time? Ours are full time. We accept only career trainers, although they do usually start at around 20 hours.
Do they get any benefits - Do you mean medical? I wish we could do this for them. There's just no way. So no. The Benefits are free family memberships, bonuses, and being part of a great team of trainers that learn from each other and support each other. Fun place to work. Not much paperwork. Dealing with happy people 99.9% of the time. That's the definition of a great job, I think!!

I make $30 at my box but all boxes are run differently. $20-$25 seems to be the standard.

I have been thinking about moving to a crossfit box in the future. Im just worried about not making enough to pay the bills. Do most trainers only do crossfit or do they have another job as well?

I know money isnt everything. Its about being part of the community and crossfit family. I love to do this stuff and thats why I chose this profession. I do have to make sure I can pay bills as well.

any thoughts?
