I eat the natural adams peanutbutter but I think Im eating way to much...I do eachdays WOD, run or swim, then train MMA, but throughout the day I eat possibly six tablespoons of peanutbutter...I crave the stuff and I was wondering if this is unhealthy???

hmmm well i know alot of pEOplE who eat natural peanut butter and are ok .. but i eat the paleo way so peanut butter is a no no.
but i eat almond or macadamia spread - much the same yummier in my own opinion.

Anway. if you are CRAVING it and cant say no.... my advice, cut it for a bit... better to kick the habit if you cant control it then just keep going... try eating proper raw nuts instead... but thats what i would do...
i could stop eating dried fruit, its not the unhealthiest but i craved it.. then stopped buying it and got rid of it all now i am fine and dont NEED it..

anyway thats my 5c worth hehe

Re: Peanutbutter

There are way worse things you could be eating. I would rather eat 600 calories of meat and veggies but it's up to you.

Re: Peanutbutter

Botanically peanuts are legumes but from a nutritional perspective they share all the health benefits associated with eating nuts so as long as your peanut butter contains no salt or other additives there's no reason why you shouldn't continue eating it.

even if it is salted natural I don't see a problem. Usually the salted has like 100mg for 2TBL, hardly a big deal.

I like Teddies old fashioned no salt kind - it's delicious. (only one ingredient!) I have other stuff like almond butter and sunflower seed butter but peanut butter is my favorite.

Re: Peanutbutter

What about Skippy All Natural? Slight more manageable as there is not as much oil seperation. But, it has 150MG of sodium per 2 Tbsp...

And again, peanut butter is or is not paleo? I am 5 days in and don't want to screw anything up now...
