warehouse heater ideas?

Wondering if anyone has a heater that they can recommend. I need to warm up a 3500 square foot facility. Something indoor-safe. Code here is "anti-frost units" which we have and they keep the pipes from freezing but its uncomfortably chilly in here sometimes. Just need to bring it up a few degrees. Would love to know what others are using.

Thanks-
Laurie

We are using the Sun. 87' here today! It is November right? Did I miss something?

Wish I could help Laurie

Re: warehouse heater ideas?

There are various garage style heaters, both electric and propane, that should work for you. Home Depot or Costco might have something. Main issue with electric is that heaters of the size you may need tend to be 240V.

I would look with a type with a forced air so you can direct it towards the workout area. Something along the lines of this (WFS).

Re: warehouse heater ideas?

We purchased a wood pellet stove and it works great...cheap too. The initial cost is in the heater itself, but really inexpensive to run. home depot has been throwing in a ton of pellets with purchase enough for us to last the winter most likely.

Re: warehouse heater ideas?

Todd- you're such a $#!&. Just because it took me a *few* extra days to mail some shirts (seems we may be coming your way in Feb...)

Wayne - Propane can't be used inside, right? Thanks for the link on the electric heaters tho - thats just what I'm looking for!

Re: warehouse heater ideas?

We have a Reznor gas heater in our unit and it works pretty good. Warehouses by nature are hard to heat, and the heating bill won't be cheap.

Kris, is it portable or a built in warehouse heater?

Re: warehouse heater ideas?

One thing you may look into is wood heating. It looks like you are in the Pacific Northwest. Unsplit wood is fairly cheap and it would be a good workout for the members to split it. Just a thought.

Re: warehouse heater ideas?

These heaters might be worth doing some research into; though I'm not sure how big an install you or your landlord are looking at.
WFS: http://www.cambridge-eng.com/products/default.asp

I used to know their VP of Sales. When these things were coming to market he was so excited he could barely see straight. Nothing like getting a 10 minute dissertation on industrial heating technology over a few drinks. Yes, ma'am; good times!

Re: warehouse heater ideas?

The owner of our building also installed a Reznor in our place. No idea on the cost. I turned it on once to see how it worked and it worked well.

https://www.rezspec.com/page-7_Reznor_Catalog.html (WFS) Ours is just like the one at the top of this page.
