Now it's ZenPlanner versus MindBody

For those of you who use ZenPlanner: What do you like most about it? What is it, for you, that makes it better than MindBody?

I hesitated to go with MindBody for my gym (in the pipeline, CrossFit 206) because MindBody makes you use their merchant-services provider in order to integrate with client management. I felt the merchant services was too expensive and had learned about the two fee structures for merchant services (tiered and interchange plus). Mindbody said their rates are competitive, so I said, ok can you match interchange plus a flat fee? And they said they can. (For more about this do some Googling on "interchange plus" merchant services.) My math shows this saving me a noticeable amount of money, depending on my volume of course. So I'm almost ready to pull the trigger and go with MBO. Wanted to see what's so compelling about ZenPlanner before I do. I do have a 15-day trial; what should I look at, specifically, to compare it to MBO which I already use at my place of employment?

Thanks!!

If you are using MindBody and feel the credit card fees are too high, call and ask them about interchange plus.

Re: Now it's ZenPlanner versus MindBody

I am just getting started with ZenPlanner. For all the input on this board about great support, I have gone days without getting help on setting up my merchant account through first data. I setup the merchant account with my bank and now I feel left to myself. Very disappointing.

OK Ben (ZP) is trying to help me. It turns out my bank merchant accout salesman screwed me up...he can't do anything until I get it fixed.

Re: Now it's ZenPlanner versus MindBody

We just started using Zen. We chose it b/c the learning curve seemed faster. We haven't integrated the payment processing yet, but plan to. I would agree that customer service is a bit slow, but otherwise, it is working out well for us.
