Re: 1000lbs club CrossFit Total

Today
1110# PR And first time >1100
Squat 410 PR +5
Press 195
Deadlift 505

Messed up DL attempt. I haven't done heavy deadlift (just wod weights but have been squatting) in 6 months or more. On way up, was to load 475 from 405. But because of the way we had to mess with and change plates, loaded a 5th 45 plate instead of a 25 on one side. Didn't notice (and I usually check religiously). One side flew up, the other a little slower. What a dunce. I noticed pretty quickly but it was still energy spent. To compound it further. I fixed the wrong side - removing the 25 and putting on a 45. Lifted with little rest, faarrkk that's heavy. Got it up and almost locked out, just shoulders a little forward and I didn't really control it at top ( no looking around at everyone brah!). There was some debate, I couldn't tell (was nursing my bit lip) but my gut said no. So we discounted it. Now I'm thinking wow, that was the heaviest 475 ever. It really messed me up mentally and was tiring too. Hamstrings were about to explode. Wasn't expecting that. So went to try 455 and realized error. Duh, a 110 # jump from 405 to 515. Rested, put 475 on and ripped it. Then put 505 and ripped that too. Had run out of time so stopped. Now wondering where my deadlift could have been. Pretty sure I'd get 515 or more now. ( my max was 525 )
Sure glad I didn't do something dumb like this on BS.

Re: 1000lbs club CrossFit Total

I just realized I'm pretty damn close (current max's are 315#, 445# and 165# = 925#). Back squat is low relative to my DL (years of thinking I had to nurse my knees, so I picked up stuff with my back, LOL), press definitely needs to go up. Currently ~198# BW or so. Goal set!

Re: 1000lbs club CrossFit Total

Been back at crossfit & working out since June (bad wrist injury a year ago with a failed clean)

455 Bs (got 445x2 as we were doing x2 max, only 1 at 455)
435 DL
185 Press

So 1075 total.

I'll take it at age 40 with a year off. Wrist is my biggest limiting factor. Anything over 225 (my 185 press hurt) is almost impossible overhead.

Re: 1000lbs club CrossFit Total

Well I was in this club before CF was around 20yrs ago, 1995! now 46yrs old so I do not think I need to go there again. been there - seen it - done it

So I should qualify for this.

Back in the day, body weight at the time 177lbs/80.5kg, how do I know and remember? because this was during a competition and 2 PR's on the same day and photos to prove it

DL 528lbs/240kgs
Squat 429lbs/195kgs
Press 220lbs/100kgs

Total weight 1177lbs - year 1995

Compared to today 2015 where I hit reasonable weights there may be a change of getting there again but that is not a goal for me.

DL 374lbs/170kgs
Squat 297/135kgs
Press 198lbs/90kgs

Total weight 869 - year 2015
