Re: "Fran" times. Whats your best
x4 would be 380, but I see your point. No, unfortunately I don't. I guess I didn't think about the percentage in the correct fashion. 95# would be closer to 30-35% of my 1RM. Either way, my first Fran was over 10:30 with a 175# FS, at best. I got down to around 5 minutes with my Front Squat probably around 205# (all of this was before I did any dedicated strength work). The 3:41 was a few days after doing 285x3 sets of FS. I've managed to do Fran around 4 minutes, twice, now. The first time I had to break up the thrusters and went unbroken for pull-ups. Now, the thrusters, strength wise, felt pretty light, but I couldn't even finish all 21 pull-ups in one set. However, can't complain too much. It will be quicker for me to get back endurance then would ever be to go gain 100#+ on a FS. |

Re: "Fran" times. Whats your best
First time I did Fran I had to scale the thrusters to 75 lbs and did assisted pullups using the bands, finished in 9:30, that was about 5 months ago. Did Fran the other day with 95 lb thrusters and no assistance on pullups, time was 8:20, not great but slow improvement.

Re: "Fran" times. Whats your best
First time Fran was a year ago and was close to 7 minutes. 6 months ago I did a 4:58. A couple months ago I did 4:36. Last week I did Fran in 3:33. Was pretty rough but I definitely see room for more improvement. Sub 3 minutes is my next goal.

I think if you can get through the whole workout at a smooth and steady pace, going unbroken on all reps, you can achieve this goal. It's usually the 15 round that gets people.

Re: "Fran" times. Whats your best
I've done Fran like 3 times now. First was close to 10 minutes, second was like 8 minutes. Third was 6:58 or something like that. Going to work on my squat strength for a while and then revisit it. The pullups are no problem but I have to rest for days on the thrusters starting in the second round.
