Coach,

Have you ever thought about putting together a team of athletes for the Eco-Challenge?

What a great athletic challenge and super marketing for CrossFit?

Jon

adventure racing is one of the most fun things to get involved in. participated in the '96 eco in utah(we were dq'd but we were there)and participated in the hi-tec sprints for three years. our all male team did quite well and had a blast. we are starting up again in october in l.a.. the races are now balance bar. crossfit routines should be good supplements but running and riding distance still necessary. try it, you will love it! maybe see someone in l.a. this october. dale

Good to hear that a CrossFit team competed in Eco-challenge. Very cool.

Our guys have won triathlons and adventure racing events with very little or no distance work.

Greg Amundson took 4th overall in the triathlon a couple of weeks ago at the California Police and Fire Games (five states competing) on a training regimen that didn't prep for long distance until about three weeks out. (He's a 200 pound monster.)

Our crew has great aerobic fitness without regular extended training efforts.

coach-

one of my goals is completing a triathlon and am seriously considering training throughout the winter and hopefully participate in one next year. i have never done one before.

i know you guys aren't the biggest fans of triathlons, but how would recommend one would train for one as far as supplementing the WOD?

how far in advance should i start to train for distance? another point to consider is that i am a horrible runner!

any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

thanks for everything!

scott
