5:26 Diane time for 1st one.. 43 years old how does that stack up

Hello all,
I did a Diane 5:26 for the first time. 6 months into cross fit and loving it. How does that stack up for the first time and 43 years old. I see that the Regionals they are insanely fast.. but for us normal folks?

A video would help. A lot of people the first time doing benchmark WODs don't do the required full range of motion on the movements.

Saying that, 8:13 is the average time for men 35-45, so that would put you in the top 30%, pretty good for only 6 months in.

I would say the form was passable. Usually instructors are watching like a hawk

Diane on beyondthewhiteboard (WFS).

5:26 puts you at 80th percentile. pretty good...even for a geezer.

If you are very serious about comparing your data, you can filter entered times based on age, height, and weight to see how you stack up against your peers rather than all Rx'd athletes.

MY HSPUS were a fail on the 3rd set... I ripped everything off fast... then my body could NOT lift itself off... no kip could save me

Diane is all about HSPU

We got guys that are beasts on the dead's but cant HSPU to save their life... worst was one guys 14 min... he kept failing on them.

Then we got a guy who strict presses 185 (benches close to 300) and only weights like 165... needless to say HSPU for him are nothing... he blows through this WOD in 5 mins or less.

Nice job on the time though!

I agree about it being the HSPU. As for the above though, assuming form is correct/decent (kip or not) and you have some comfort being in a handstand, it is more about actualy bodyweight (or at least useful bodyweight - heavier guys its tougher, period) than it is about the relationship between bench and strict press.

I struggle beyond 4-5 HSPUs (strict) and I have a greater than bodyweight Strict Press and bench beyond 300ish.
