I went to buy a pair of New Balance MX20 today and found there is a new version MX20v2. After searching I haven't been able to find any discussion on the differences, beyond a slight change in sizing (apparently the v2 are normal sizing while v1 is on the small side and generally good to order half a size larger than normal, and v2 apparently have a narrower toe box). Any ideas? Both version are priced the same. v2 do look cheaper and more plasticy.

Re: New Balance MX20 vs MX20v2
The top of the v2 is more like the minimus zero. It is a little more plasticy or papery feeling, bit as a result it is a little lighter. It also doesn't have that metatarsal band across the top like the MT10 and 20 have so if you don't like that you might go with these. It's a very comfortable shoe I think.

Disregard everything I said.-_- I was thinking of the MT20 and 20v2. Sorry.

Re: New Balance MX20 vs MX20v2
Can anyone who currently WODs in the MX20 comment on the stiffness of the outsole? One of the things I love about my MT10's is their abundant flexibility which allows me to use them comfortably for a variety of different movements.
The v2's look to have a bit stiffer outsole but its hard to tell from pictures. Does anyone own them yet and have an idea on the mid-/out-sole's firmness? Looking for a happy medium between barefoot feel and stability for pushing my Oly lifts. |

The 230s, 1952 and bare x 180s from inov from new balance The Mt100, the mt20 and the mx20 from reebok The realflexes The biggest difference on the mx20 and the MT20 is the build of the front of the shoe I found that in my mx20s they didnt put enough clearence or veritcal height in the shoe box. My 3rd and 4th toe were smasshing into the fabric (which is alot stiffer on the mx20s than the mt20s). My big toe fit fine and had plent of clearence. I thought this was a width problem and exhanged them for the same thing in wide... Same problem... It was a deisgn flaw in the show If you look at new balances web site the new MX20 or MX20V2 has corrected this problem by redesigning the upper. Less stiff, more durable and more room for an average foot. The new ones have more of a natural feel. Thanks. |

Re: New Balance MX20 vs MX20v2
Yes, but my question is regarding MX20 compared to MX20v2, not MX20 compared to MT20. There is a new version of the MX20 known as MX20v2 (i.e. version 2).

Re: New Balance MX20 vs MX20v2
To be honest, I have a pair of MX20 in size 10.5 (I'm size 10) that feel a bit narrow. They were fine initially, however, during the end of your CF workout, the shoes will begin to feel narrow.
