White batatas

What is the verdict on batatas? I have seen a couple of varieties (some people say they are the same as sweet potatoes), including one that is white on the inside, resembling a regular potato. The taste, however, is different, and more similar to that of a sweet potato.

Are batatas paleo-approved or at least in the same boat as sweet potatoes?

It is a sweet potato last time I checked. The Paleo gods and police for that matter would most likely approve.

Live on the edge though, just eat it. With butter.
