Re: Multiple workouts in a day?
Better yet, volunteer to coach kids in some sport, or fitness related thing. Give back to the community and help to instill some passion in our younger generations. Believe me, working with and coaching kids, can be a great workout, both for the body, mind and patience.

If I were you, I'd focus on strength. Sounds like you'll be stress-free and have plenty of time to sleep, lift, and eat. As one gets stronger it becomes increasingly difficult to recover and make substantial progress.

Re: Multiple workouts in a day?
I don't see what the big deal is with him wanting to train more?
There's only one way to find out if multiple wods is too much or works great for you, I say go for it bro. I've experimented with 2 to 3 wods a day and I can go like that for a month and be fine, and then sometimes I only need one a day, Just listen to yourself. |

Re: Multiple workouts in a day?
The issue is that he couldn't articulate a good reason for wanting to train more or a well thought-out program to follow. As I said before, doing more for the sake of doing more is likely to be counterproductive, especially if it's not done in an intelligent way.

Re: Multiple workouts in a day?
I followed mostly the main site workouts and have tried to add strength stuff either before or after. I found, at least for me, that I was getting burnt out after about 3-4 weeks. 20+ minute WODs were to much after doing heavy lifting. When I would shorten the WODs, say from a 20 minute AMRAP to a 12-15 or 5 rounds to 3 rounds it helped. I think one of the best ways to do it is if you are finding your own programming isn't working try following Cossfit Football. They do a great job of programming strength with met-cons. Also, there are some really good affiliates that program strength workouts before a met-con. Crossfit Pori is one, as is Crossfit Amundson.
