Never for the life of me been able to understand the diet coke brigade

Haven't posted in this thread before...hopefully this suffices. A text message from my girlfriend:

"They have a whole section in office depot called reduced effort staplers"

Those things are awesome, basically staple gun technology for the office. They staple perfectly every...single...time. If Milton had one he would have called it his precccioussss.

"I tried dieting and being skinny, and trust me, I enjoy being fat much, much more."
UNBELIEVABLE.

haha no I totally agree I love using the one-touch staplers...but an entire section?! I just couldn't help but see undertones of laziness

"If there's one thing I learned in my nutrition class, it's that your body doesn't absorb anything from supplements."

This said to somebody that's actually trying to eat healthy.

Well, while it's not "nothing", my understanding is that only a small percentage of the supplements is digested/absorbed by the body. Isn't that a big reason supplements like creatine gets mixed with carb drinks and solid pills like vitamin supplements get crushed to encourage digestion.

Am I wrong on this?

The creatine bit is false. Logically, if you ate meat but didn't chug it down with a sugary drink, you'd hope some of the creatine would get absorbed

The absorption rate is still pretty high, but obviously not as high as with carbs, that's all.

Re: Heard in the Office Today

A friend at work was telling me about his newly acquired gym membership and how he's spent the last 2 weeks (or so) working out most nights. He broke down which days he did what (Monday=arms/shoulders, Tues=legs, etc.) He's also done a couple of CF WODs with me at our company gym, so he's a little familiar with what I do. We get into a BRIEF discussion about losing fat in the middle area (because I recently had a baby) and how you can't spot reduce, yada yada yada. I simply say, it'll take time, a clean diet, and continue to work my CF WODs. He says to me, "Yeah, maybe....but if you get one of those neoprene belts and put it on, you'll just sweat the fat cells out".

He was trying so hard to be helpful, I didn't have the heart to call him out....

Re: Heard in the Office Today

I used to work with a girl who thought one of those neoprene belts would help her lose belly fat. I almost convinced her to save her money and just use her hairdryer on herself since it would basically be doing the same thing.
