Help planning my workouts
Hey Guys, first thread around here, though i have followed cf.com for long time.. Im a 6'1 5/8, 190 lbs guy looking to put some weight on. My problem is that i have a hard time planning my workouts, due to american football training tuesday and thursday. I follow the Crossfitfootball.com workout sheet, which suggest training monday, tuesday, thursday, friday, and saturday. I really think im pushing my body to hard by doing both workouts and practice... Any Ideas on how to plan it better? should i move the workouts to other days, cut them in half, etc???

CFFB is in offseason mode right now since most people aren't playing football--I'd look back at last fall's CFFB programming to find their inseason stuff. It's designed with lower volume and intensity so it integrates with a normal practice schedule.
Or you could just do something like GSLP or 5/3/1 that has you lifting 2-4x per week and let football practice act as your conditioning. That's what I've done with my 2-3x per week rugby training and it hasn't been too much for me. |

I would follow the on season workouts or skip Saturday's workout if following the off season WOD's.
So, it would look like this: Mon- CFFB swod/dwod tues- CFFB swod/dwod and practice (Scale or eliminate DWOD if needed) WED-REST Thurs- CFFB Swod/dwod and practice (Scale or eliminate DWOD if needed) Fri- CFFB Swod/DWOD Sat-Rest Sun-Rest |

also listen to your body if you think it's to much maybe it is. Step back (ie one or two days taking out or stepping it down a notch) and reincorporate CFF a little bit at a time. Also take a look at your diet with all the extra training you may need to get some more intake. |
