It was gymnastic skill day, so I spent my time working on:
Handstand holds
Ring dips/banded muscle-ups
Pull-ups

I did a few power snatch and clean and jerk reps, just because I haven’t doe those in a long time.

Sundays are Olympic lifting days, so I signed up for a two-hour session of that.

Paused snatch (@ the knees) 8 x 1
Loads: 95#, 95, 115, 135, 145, 165 (3 fails), 175 – I haven’t snatched since April 22, 2015! Getting up to 175# (paused, no less) felt pretty good!

Snatch balance 5 x 2
Loads: 95#, 95, 115, 115, 115

Clean pulls 5 x 2
Loads: 185#, 205, 225, 225, 275

Back squat 3 x (2, 2, 2)
Loads: 225#, 225, 275

Really felt good to be moving the bar fast again! Will be making every effort to get in for as many weightlifting days as possible.

Spent the long weekend swimming, paddle-boarding and hiking with the family also. Lots of sun, lots of exercise, the perfect weekend!

Annual trip to Penticton, BC coming up……
