When doing a wod like yesterday you should do 5 max effort overhead squats and then proceed to five max effort front squats and so on. YOu should rest as much as needed between sets. Ths workout is not for time but for max lifts.

As far as your niece goes some modification will usually be neccessary for her. A great resource is :
