at first you might slide backwards a bit, but your body will get used to the increased demand, and you'll get back to where you were/surpass if you have your recovery in check.
Also recommend shorter metcons aka 15-18mins or LESS.
in the end the added conditioning will help you recover.
its just going to be a matter of time management (conditioning and strength work time management)
Think about it though rugby and football (not soccer) players are big, can be lean, fast and strong, and they do both conditioning and strength work.
