I will generally use a damper setting of about 3 - 4 for short, high-intensity rows (500m and under) and about 7.5 or so for longer ones. Personal preference is key here - - what works best for each person. Check out the Rowing Exercise vids (Greg Hammond/Angela Hart/Jon Gilson) on the "Exercises and Demos" menu from the CF Main Page.
