I second the CF football. Especially if you are used the the 3x5 programming and doing core power lifts, it still has the metcon aspect to give the benefits of the crossfit programming.

So I played a half hour of basketball before starting the workout. Full court 4v5 on the 4 team so I got a good warmup.

I would say something to look at to help with the metcons and put on muscle is crossfit football. Most days have a strength and a metcon workout that should help both angles. SS is meant to be done...
