Welcome! I would start by saying, visit a local affiliate, if there are any near you. If not, I would look into BrandX. Scaling your loads while learning technique is going to be key...

You may need to warm up more. Knees are funny, you may be going into the squat WOD cold and by the time you get to adding some load, your knees are warmed up. Just my thoughts.
