Re: The Outlaw Way

I got the impression it will be similar, minus the skill moves like double unders and handstand walks.

365, 405, and 455. 455 is a PR. This is the first time I've attempted more than 405 since rupturing my distal bicep tendon 3 years ago.

Re: Muscle Fatigue

Considering you knocked out 7 rounds in 20 minutes, I'm guessing you didn't waste much time. General fatigue probably plays as much of a role as local muscular fatigue.

I wonder what your numbers...

Re: Shoulder press question

Is your position in the rack the same when you lift the barbell off the rack as it is when you pause after a push-press?

I'd check this free CFJ article...

Re: Why rowing?

I always assumed this was the primary reason that a rower showed up in WODs while any other cardio equipment was frowned upon.

Re: Cant do 3-1.. anything wrong with 5-2?

Brendan, I meant no offense. Honestly, after looking at your affiliate page, the unlimited fee is reasonable enough that I wouldn't have had a problem paying that. The gym I attend charges...

Re: Cant do 3-1.. anything wrong with 5-2?

I'm interested in your thoughts on this, and it may be a thread hijack. Are your intentions to fully control the training week of your members? I intentionally only purchase a 2 day/week plan...

Re: Review of bumpers?(help needed, not advice given)

Hey Brad, I did know this going in. Where I went wrong was not checking the diameter on the high temps. It just seems like it would not be a good idea to drop a bar that has a mix of the two.

Re: Review of bumpers?(help needed, not advice given)

I received a pair of the Pendlay Elite 45lb bumpers yesterday. They are very nice, but they unfortunately have a slightly larger diameter than the rest of my high temps. I should have done a bit of...

Re: Jerk Chin

I've done that once, and never again. It definitely put an end to the wod on that particular day. It felt like the equivalent of being punched when you don't expect it.

Re: 10% off Pendlay Bearing Bar and Bumpers

I ordered a pair of the Pendlay elites on the 8th and they were delivered today.

Re: water rower vs concept 2

Thanks. That's what I was actually trying to describe, I just didn't have the lingo. I don't know if it is solely because of this, but also due to the calibration of the different machines, but my...

Re: Review of bumpers?(help needed, not advice given)

I have a pair of the Pendlay 45's sitting on my front porch right now. I'll post later tonight or tomorrow with my initial impressions.

I got these: ...

Re: water rower vs concept 2

I've got a water rower, and have used a concept 2 at my local box. I went with the water rower because it was more appealing to my wife. The water rower is fine, but you really can't compare your...

Re: Palm wear and tear on a kettlebell snatch

In general, try to catch it in your fingers, instead of the middle of your hand. Then when it is rotating you want to loosen up your grip. I would consider it more hooking with your fingers than...

Re: FLynn-Fran Kettlebell WOD

You've definitely went from an intense cardio workout to a strength or strength endurance workout. I don't think the rep scheme works will with presses and dead hangs.

For this type of work, I...

Re: distal biceps tendonitis

I was going to recommend curls as well. Ever since my injury, I always do a few sets at the end of a workout before a rest day.

Re: distal biceps tendonitis

Even with double-overhand grip on DL, I'd avoid max effort reps.

Honestly, I'd just stick to back squats. But I'm extremely paranoid after rupturing my distal bicep tendon deadlifting.

Re: 400m Walking Lunge WOD

I can look at this workout, and know without a doubt that I'm not working out for a few days following. I think if I scaled it in half, that would still be the case.

I show up at my box yesterday,...

Re: Pain inside bicep area

I just avoided any pulling movements for a few days, and the pain went away.

My workout partner has experienced the same thing, and it is always following a clean workout where he starts pulling...

Re: Pain inside bicep area

I know you mentioned some of the exercises where you experience the pain(rope climb, pullups), but do you recall a specific exercise possibly a day before the pain.

I've felt what you are describing...

Re: Heavy bag training-worth it?

It's just fun. I need to find some room for one. I recommend the Bas Rutten workout CD's. It's basically Bas calling out combinations for 2 or 3 minute rounds. It's a good workout even if you are...

Re: Cost no Object Kettlebells.

No way, man. Those rotating handles may sound like a good idea to anyone who has never used a kettlebell before, but that would just wreak havoc. You want to have control over the spin of the...

Re: New WOD "Ondrej"

15 snatches with the heaviest kettlebell will equal more work in less time since you don't have to take time to switch kettlebells.

Re: Rogue Rings or Elite EXF Rings?

My rogue rings are only about a week old, and I love the straps and buckles.
