Re: Clydesdale Men: Represent!
Well, here is my answer to the question (37 years old, 270 lbs):

Re: Clydesdale Men: Represent!
I'd definitely throw myself into the Clydesdale category. I'm 5'11" and 270 lbs. Based on estimations of my body fat, my ideal weight is around 240 lbs (my lean mass is something just above 200...

Re: Coming off a 2month break
Blair, did you leave Sacramento?

Re: Programming with Injuries
I'd say CrossFit Endurance. Conditioning exercises are pretty light-weight and easily modified. The main focus is the run or bike (probably not the swim in his case).

Re: I'm Not "Getting" Crossfit
If strength is your primary goal, switch from CrossFit.com to CrossFit Football, or some other strength and power-biased version of the programming.
To your point, though, the primary advantage of...

Why not something a little more in-line?
A while ago on the CFE site I saw something like this workout:
For the next 24 hours, every hour on the hour, run 1 mile.
This will recreate the baby...

Re: Defining Fire Breathing
I don't think you grasped what I was saying. I'll repeat it:
WHO CARES? It's a label that has no meaning once you understand that CrossFit is about fitness, not about what you, I, or anyone else...

Re: Defining Fire Breathing
A few ways to look at this.
Option #1 (my favorite): Who cares? Get fit, and go hard. What do you care whether you're a firebreather or not? Are you getting better? Why does the label matter? ...

Re: Women's weight?!
I don't know. I go back and forth with my thoughts on this.
I like that CrossFit is very general in its approach to fitness. By training with it, I'm capable of many things physically (and...

Re: Women's weight?!
I think there's a pretty significant difference in horsepower being generated by a 250lb man doing a back squat at 250lbs for reps, versus a 135lb woman doing a 135lb back squat for reps (unless...

Just from personal experience (and that of friends), the first month or so is pretty brutal for most people. Hang in there, your body will adjust.
Glad to have you with us!

Then again, I did survive Murph. I...
