Re: Butt Rash

Re: Front Squat Check

By the looks of it, at the bottom of your squat your elbows drop and you come forward some. Drive up with your elbows at the same time that you're coming out of the bottom. It looks like you're...

Critique: hang power clean & jerk, clean pulls, back squat

Looking for criticism - what you like or don't like. Let me have it :notworth:

I'll start - On the clean, I need to get my elbows around quicker when receiving the bar. On the jerk, it looks like...

Re: Squat and Clean Check

Power Clean:

1) Get your back tighter! Your upper back is rounding.
2) It appears that you are starting with your hips too high. Lower them a bit before the first pull.
3) There is a slight bend...

Re: Paleo Poop?

If you have a lot of bloating and your bowel movements have a slight white color to them and/or smell like sour milk, then you have likely developed an intolerance to lactose.

I would suggest that...

Re: Supplemets for Crossfitters?

That is all you really need to supplement with.

You don't need anything intra-workout. Although, some people like to have some protein during/after heavy days.

I supplement with bacon....

Re: Awesome (mostly) Paleo Meal

Nice - venison steak is tasty! I have only had it crusted with cracked black pepper and then grilled with asparagus and okra.

Re: Paleo or Not??

Sea salt is better than the typical table salt found everywhere.

I shoot for consuming no more than 1/2 the RDA value of sodium/day or 1200 mg/day. I recall Dr. Cordain mentioning something...

Re: Active Recovery on Rest Days

I would not do any high intensity or strength work though. The point of rest days is rest.

Re: How much nuts and seeds?

I used to eat a lot of nuts too without realizing the plethora of other great fat sources out there!

Good fat sources that do not include nuts are: olive oil, coconut oil, walnut oil, avocado,...

I already explained the reason why CF and religion do not need to be mixed.

Re: A Christian CrossFit?

I'm not sure what is the problem with having prayer and worship at a church, or wherever, and CrossFit at the box. Why do you think that there should be a mix of the two? I'm astounded that you do...

Re: A Christian CrossFit?

I agree with what John stated above.

CrossFit should not in any way be affiliated with a religion or a political party.

@ Jamie - In what way is CrossFit, exclusionary?

Re: Grass Fed Beef - The Price You Pay, Where You Get It, and How Long it Lasts, etc

Beef at $5/pound is a good price. At a local organic food store I can find uncured/organic bacon at $6/pound.

Also there is a bison farm close by that allows hunting, which equates to cheap bison...
