Re: Good Airdyne Deal?

Wow great deal. I have one of the silver ones which I bought for $150...I love it.

It requires almost no maintenance and they're expected to last a very long time.

I see them for sale in my...

Re: GHD and Hip extension machine

I have the older one Rogue used to looks like they've updated the design a bit (first thing I did when I got it was take the pendulum off and just use a strap).

I got it when I was...

Re: Bulging/degeneration in L4-L5 and L5-S1 discs

Hey Drew,

Good luck man. For what it's worth, I had a l5-s1 herniation that came with months of sciatica and once I started treating it very seriously I was able to get pain free and have been...

Re: Power Rack Rehab

I don't know that you really need to go to the expense of getting it sandblasted...just to keep it functional you would probably be fine to hit the major rust areas with a wire brush and then go to...

Re: CL price for steel plates

I wouldn't go over 50 cents per pound unless they were something special like revolvers, troy interlocking...etc. if you're just talking about regular plates like CAPS or weiders never go over 50...

Re: Low Back pain only at night while i sleep, cant sleep... HELP!

Something that might help is experimenting with sleeping on your side with pillows between your legs. Like a lot of them.

When my sciatica was real bad sleeping like that or else on my back with...

Re: Bulging Disc L5-S1

Hey Ronald,

I had a herniated l5-s1 confirmed w/ MRI, and had sciatica pretty bad for about 6 months. I was in denial for a while but eventually realized that I just couldn't keep up with...

Re: Continued tight muscles with L5/S1 Disc bulge

Me too. I had herniated l5-s1, bad sciatica down hamstring for upwards of 6 months. Finally started taking consistent NSAIDS at prescription doses, daily McKenzie exercises and trying for little...

Re: Vest

Your least expensive option would be to see what you can find on craigslist regarding a simple backpack first and weighted vest second.

A fellow in my neighborhood has the TDS one, but personally...

Hey all,

I'm redoing my workout space and am selling off some equipment I will not have room for any longer. It might be interesting for anyone looking for home gym equipment in the Raleigh, NC...

Re: Let's go Metric!

I started out my garage gym with an old set of weider international plates and was set on going metric...but after flipping a few deals I ended up with a mish-mash of both and it was driving me...

Re: hex bar squats

I couldn't speak for conventional crossfit wisdom...but hex bars / trap bars do target your legs and glutes more than the lower back.

You can still tweak your back in hyperextension at the top,...

Re: Would you trust this power rack?

It looks like it's made out of C channel steel...I'm sure it would be solid. The problem I'd say is that it looks fairly narrow and could that could be an issue for squats.

The hole spacing...

Re: Deadlift PR 435#

It looks like you never set your lower back, and it stays in flexion through the lift. I've had herniated disc w/ sciatica before, and this form was how I got it. This kind of thing will catch up...

Re: Safety Rails on Squats

I've heard more bad things about people getting pinned under a bench press than being pinned under a squat. Either way, power cages can start off so affordable these days I don't see why you...

Re: Stall mats near NYC?

if you google for 'tack and feed' shop, maybe you'll get something. any kind of horse supplier might carry them, although my guess is you'll have to do at least a little driving.

Re: Saw Horses?

I think this looks like an interesting idea...but I haven't tried it myself. I'm thinking about doing this with connecting the side rails with pipe along one side for a little trap bar rack.

Re: Protecting Low Back while stretching Hammies?

If you've had sciatica from a disc injury in the past, my understanding is that you can get some scar tissue built up which can cause 'neural tethering' with the you stretch the muscle...
