Re: Oral Sugery downtime

NP. I went to the box yesterday. Intentions were to take it relatively easy, but this never works out. The WOD was push press, dynamic effort, so not to taxing, but the cash out was prowler rows,...

Re: Truth about milk

No, it was directed at the book you cited. He may argue that lactose intolerance is natural (which I would likely not agree with totally), but to imply that it is intentional is wrong. If I...

Re: Oral Sugery downtime

+1 on the fish oil. Also taking Ibu for swelling. Neutral on the nutrition... Not being able to chew has limited my intake. Much more dairy (yogurt) than usual.

Thanks for the tips. Confirms...

Re: Truth about milk

Um... Issue with this statement. Mammals were not designed to do anything. We evolved. Perhaps lack of milk after childhood resulted in a lack of selective pressure needed to maintain an active...

Oral Sugery downtime

On Thursday last week I had some oral surgery. I had a gum reduction behind my lower molar on the right, and a gum graft on the buccal side which involved taking the graft from the roof of my mouth....

Re: Why Should One Be Fit?

So I can be better prepared for nearly any eventuality. There was a quote from someone here (I believe) that I've appropriated for whenever anyone asks me why I do what I do... (paraphrased):

Re: Defective Vibram Five Fingers

I think mine blew out due to (at least the right shoe) scuffing the bottom of the Prowler sled during a workout. The right I think was just thread failure.

Re: Defective Vibram Five Fingers

They do have some QC issues to work out wherever seams meet. I've had my KSOs for about 8 months. the left one split the seam over the knuckle where the big toe meets the foot after about 8 weeks,...

Re: LOST...anybody watching this on TV?

Possibly. The problem is the special thing about Walt was that he couldn't act.

Re: Egg whites' protein vs. whole eggs' protein

HDL is the "good" cholesterol, and LDL is the "bad" cholesterol. My ratio is so heavily skewed towards HDL that my doc advises that I have a robust retirement plan, because he says I'll live to be...

Re: Row V`s Run

Dang, I thought this was about those mixed-mode races. When I lived in Alexandria VA, there was an annual "Run vs. Row" 10k. Runners would (duh) run a 10k through Old Towne, and the local crew...

Re: High Rep Dumbbell Swings and Hand Injury

DB swings put a weird stress on my fingers; mainly the first knuckle of my index finger. I'm not sure if it's the grip, or the force of the swing. KB swings don't bother my finger, so I think it's...

Re: iCrossFit - The latest iPhone app for CrossFitters

I DL'ed the other day, and it seems cool so far. It's listed as "Lite," which usually implies a scaled down, cheap version. Do you have plans for a full-fat version, and what do you plan?

Re: so I just acquired a huge box of tilapia

Link does not load.

I'd also be worried about the source. Much of the tilapia sold is farmed in China (or so I've heard). Given the issues with food products over the past couple of years, I'd...

Re: so I just acquired a huge box of tilapia

I'd vote YES. Tilapia is a farmed fish, and suffers from the same o3/o6 fatty acid problems that CAFO beef have. I used to like tilapia, but after watching a show about how they are raised, found...

Re: Marathon Runners and 400m times

I'd suggest running Yasso 800s http://www.runnersworld.com/article/0,7120,s6-238-244-255-624-0,00.html FWS. Basically, you run a series of 800M repeats. The time you run (in minutes) corresponds to...
