Re: It is finally here, the much awaited video of Klokov and the back squat....

IIRC, one leg is longer than the other. So he basically always staggers his stance. Even setting up on the olympic lifts, he staggers to compensate for the difference in his legs.

Re: Just read "Overcoming Gravity" ...

Thanks for the heads up Steven. Looks like I'll be buying your book twice!

Thanks for clarifying, Blair.

Re: Just read "Overcoming Gravity" ...

Hey Steven, I was wondering if there would be a second edition or something to fix the grammar and typos. If so, do you know how long it will be until release?

Just wondering if I should get it now...

Re: headstand push-ups???

Really? I thought they were easier narrower... Or at least when they're right under your shoulders.

Re: Pull Up Critique- Shoulder Issue and Technique

AFAIK, there are no real standards for kipping pull-up. So I'd say you did a kipping pull-up, just didn't kip all the way up.

Strength. Do negatives to focus on that area in particular, or holds...

Re: Ugly 2.5x BW deadlift

Welcome to the 400 lb club! Nice to see some lighter people in here :)

TIL I haven't done a true max effort deadlift in a long time... Guess I should jack it up to 460 lb next time I'm at the bar...

Re: Box jumps: how low do you go?

Just pace yourself. They're deceptive destroyers.

You're overthinking it. You can start on your next jump the moment you hit the ground.

Re: hero wod

Not often at all? In my 3.5 years of crossfitting, I haven't hit all of the girls. I only did Isabel for the first time during the Open. Not as impressive as my Grace, but at least it's something I...

Re: Warm Up to 1RM

Well I guess I've been warming up incorrectly...

I usually just put in a bunch of reps at increasing weight. So for example, when I set my 440 lb deadlift PR, I did the following to warm-up:

10 x...

Ever not give it you best?

Not sure what happened. Doing Grace today, at the half way point (15 at ~1:12), I just felt like calling it quits. I rested a bit, and went at it again, but backed off almost completely (finish at...

Re: Question about some CFFB WODs

This would just be my best guess, but it may be more of a form thing. There's a lot that goes on with the oly lifts, and there's not much time to do them. Working on sub maximal efforts allows you to...

Re: 3 weeks regressing

Oh man, can't believe I forgot about GOMAD. I guess now's a good time to try it out.

I was hoping I wouldn't have to dial it down. I guess what's necessary is necessary though.

Re: OHS on a Swiss Ball

Like yesterday when I saw a guy in the globo doing back squats on a bosu ball. Didn't even come close to parallel.

Re: November: Thruster Challenge

8,8,5x115lbs :(

9x135lbs unbroken. Should've pushed it up to 145lbs for bw. Might just do that.

Re: critique my logo ideas please

Bottom right. The bold font goes well with primal.

I agree with the comments about some of the others looking like phat from a distance.

Re: November: Thruster Challenge

15@115lbs. Was about to start rep 16, when I realized I was going to 15 today.

---Edit---
Oh, that's unbroken.

Re: Seen at the globo yesterday

Of course this could backfire if their mom is standing right there... But should work most of the time.

Re: The importance of 3 in 3x5

Also doing CFFB amateur. Depending on why I failed, I may cut it by 10% and rework my way up. So far I've only failed at a deadlift, so I can only give that example.

My first deadlift fail came at...
