Re: Comparing exercises

I'm pretty new to this so I may lose some things in translation. What I am considering is a list of things that have basically the same affect. Mainly for the purpose of subbing things. I live in...

So I have been reading this thread and since I made quite a few items already I thought I had to do this. I got a piece of schedule 40 PVC and it felt pretty weak even with the small amount of weight...

Re: Frequency Question

Thanks for the reply. I will most likely only be doing one WOD each day unless one of my training days fall on a weekend and I have nothing else to do. Are there any guidelines to programming or...

Frequency Question

Hey guys. I have a really busy schedule and it varies quite a bit from week to week so I have found it very difficult to stick with a set program. As far as strength training goes, I found that...

Another rugby question

When most people here ask about programs a lot of the advice says it depends on goals and where you are now. So, my goals are to be in great shape to play rugby in the spring. Where I am now...

Re: Liver

Thanks for the replies. We have an awesome butcher shop in town and the prices are better than any of the chain grocery stores.

To expand on my question...I know some people shy away from pork...

Liver

I have been reading a lot lately about the paleo diet. I found a paleolithic cookbook and there is a section on organ meats with several recipes for various kinds of liver. I was wondering if there...

Re: an equation for fitness

I think it would be too hard to use math to say who is more fit than another since there are too many definitions of "fitness" but you could probably use an equation to quantify your own fitness....

Re: Dynamic Effort without accommodating resistance

Hey guys and most of all Alex. I didn't intend to cause a fuss. In my attempt to help I put out a lot of info that wasn't really answering the question. While I stick by what I said, I will add that...

Re: Dynamic Effort without accommodating resistance

It has been a while. After thinking of what I posted in response to Kane I think I may have been a bit too general. Lou's response was in regards to MY needs so it may not have been what is suggested...

Kane,

I understand that you are trying to PR on ME day and, while that is the goal, it won't always happen. As long as you are going all out and STRAIN against the weight you are doing what you...

Re: Dynamic Effort without accommodating resistance

I will have to do some research if nobody knows before I find out but I think some articles were written by Louise or Dave Tate that mentions what percentages to use. Westside didn't always use bands...

Re: Protein and plain water

Thanks for the suggestions. I remember getting Twinlab's Gainers Fuel when I was a teenager. The instructions said NOT to use milk. Mix in water. Tasted pretty good if I remember right.
