Re: 2018 CrossFit Open, Regionals and Games Thread

I get that but if a rower breaks surely they have spare rowers at the ready and the athlete can be back to rowing in no time. When a bike pedal falls off on a 1200M, or whatever it was, course what...

Re: 2018 CrossFit Open, Regionals and Games Thread

Edit: nevermind, just saw the story.

As far as the judging, no way you can have an event with this many opportunities are judging errors and not have them. Well, at least not have instances where...

Re: 2018 CrossFit Open, Regionals and Games Thread

Again, why test the bottom 2/3rds of regional athletes? It's throwing money away. Realistically there are only maybe 10 competitors at each region that has a real chance of making the games. IMO they...

Re: 2018 CrossFit Open, Regionals and Games Thread

I would guess the number if very small and to be honest who cares if someone is using at a local comp. I mean if the people running the comp want to spend the money to test more power to them but the...

Re: 2018 CrossFit Open, Regionals and Games Thread

They don't test every regional athlete and why would they? Why waste the time and money testing someone that has zero chance of making it to the games? They did test anyone that could possibly make...

Re: 2018 CrossFit Open, Regionals and Games Thread

Failed drug test. Andrey Ganin was the one in Europe. I read that Frederik Aegidius has bee invited in is place.

Emily Abbott also failed which is a huge name.

13 athletes in all.

The two above...

Re: 2018 CrossFit Open, Regionals and Games Thread

I hate thrusters but did vote for 11.6. Overhead squats are just such a struggle for me due to shoulder mobility and I never know how they will feel from day to day. I just couldn't vote for 14.2.

Re: 2018 CrossFit Open, Regionals and Games Thread

I think they do mean something but they are so obscure that you can't figure them out.

For 18.5 Castro will release 3 WODs at 5:00 CST. The community will have 2 hours to vote on which WOD they...

18.5 is 13.5 with DB thrusters...right?

Re: 2018 CrossFit Open, Regionals and Games Thread

Yep. Seems like this happens every year with at least one workout. With 300,000+ people entering scores, it's a certainty that some won't be able to follow directions. You just have to be patient.

Re: 2018 CrossFit Open, Regionals and Games Thread

If accurate picture is what you are truly looking for then I'd argue it does show it. If someone is so much fitter than you that they can miss a workout and still be ranked ahead of you gives a more...

Re: 2018 CrossFit Open, Regionals and Games Thread

I guess what would it change if they did what you are asking? For someone that didn't finish a workout to be ranked ahead of you, you would have to be pretty far down the rankings. Is being in...

Re: 2018 CrossFit Open, Regionals and Games Thread

Really hoping no OHS or Squat Snatches come up. I can't do either due to shoulder mobility so if they do I guess I'm out.

Re: 2018 CrossFit Open, Regionals and Games Thread

From what i can tell the Xebex rowers cost just as much as the Concept. Unless they offer boxes a nice discount not sure why you wouldn't just get the Concept.

Re: 2018 CrossFit Open, Regionals and Games Thread

Good question. I'm not sure when these hit the market. My gym has Xebex bikes. I've also used and Assault Bike and IMO the Xebex bike seems to get calories easier than the Assault. I mean Xebex still...

Could also be that this was the first time some at the top submitted a video using the Xebex and it was obvious they do not count calories the same.

Re: 2018 CrossFit Open, Regionals and Games Thread

Re: 2018 CrossFit Open, Regionals and Games Thread

Crossfit released a statement saying the xebex rowers are not the same as concept and if you used a xebex you will receive a 15% penalty. You have until the close of 18.2 to let them know you used a...

Re: Thoughts on new movement standards...

On the dumbbell snatch both heads of the dumbbell have to touch the ground. The clean only one has to touch.
