Re: Conditioning going backwards

Hey Preston,

you might wanna look into exercise-induced astma.
Two years ago, i was into running, training for 10 miles and stuff, and i kept hitting a wall. When training, after 2km the muscles...

Re: Two Options for flooring in my garage. Help me pick.

Hi Michael,

I would go with option 1. As you're writing, you're not aiming at being competitive (yet), so you'ld like a space that is as versatile as the WOD's will be.

I just floored my garage...

Re: diy wooden squat rack with pull up bar

For now, I only have 115lbs (53 kg) worth of barbell and plates, and I'm still working mostly on technique, not on strength or weigth.

Bodyweight is 183 lbs (83 kg). I think that if I ever go...

Re: diy wooden squat rack with pull up bar

Been a while, but I'm finally getting it done, have simplified the designs a lot.

I 've bolted two 2"x6" beams to the ceiling (3m30) and the floor at approx 93cm (3 ft) from each other
Pull-up bar...

Well, of course, there's...

Re: diy wooden squat rack with pull up bar

Hi Christopher,

I didn't consider buying J-cups as I thought (wrongly) they would not be compatible with a DIY squat rack. I'll ask the box where I go for Oly classes twice a month for the contact...

Re: diy wooden squat rack with pull up bar

Thanks Clint, great vid indeed.

Good remark James, thanks. It just seemed easier that way to make the cut-out for the transverse beam on top, but it has a distinct weakness for sure. I'll see if...

Re: Any tips for squatting and keeping back straighter/more vertical.

What has worked wonders for me is that the last thing I focus on before starting the squat is tightening those abs.
If you keep them tight throughout the movement, your pelvis will follow your...

diy wooden squat rack with pull up bar

Hi,

Iíve been making designs for a squat rack with pull up bar. Not a full power cage, so no spotter bars inside, because I want to use up as little floor space of garage as possible.
Itís quite...

Re: Lung Capacity/Function After Quitting Smoking

You could also go see lung-specialist and do a pulmonary function test, so (1) you know if you're in bad shape, (2) you know if you have astma (may be hidden by smoking?) and (3) you have a benchmark...

Re: Im so weak

I had astma as a kid, then went to college, started smoking, didn't care about being short of breath as I assumed it to be normal when you smoke...
Almost two years ago now, I quit smoking (after 12...

Re: Which would you buy first?

Thanks for all the replies.

So if I sum : you all suggest I'ld go for the bar and DIY on the pull-up bar and medicine ball.

As as to "why the Ohio Bar?" Well, it was the cheapest on...
