Re: warmups for LPs...grrrrrr

Crossfit doesn't like things that oppose Crossfit. There's a few websites that cannot be linked.

Re: A warning

What should people be looking for when selecting a protein supplement so they know they're getting what they're paying for?

Re: weight gain diet advice

If gaining mass is your goal, then doing metcons 6 times a week is a terrible method.
You can still do them, but your focus should be the big compound lifts; deadlifts, squats, press, bench press,...

Re: Strength training and Yoga

I always saw yoga as stress releasing, not stress inducing; therefore, it shouldn't inhibit your strength gains. I wouldn't do it before lifting, but afterward, or on your off days as you suggested. ...

Re: Are rest days REALLY necessary?

The Bulgarians aren't on top anymore.

And "not feeling well" could also prevent you from injuring yourself.

There are a multitude of training methodologies, but there is no single one that is...

Re: SS Weightlifting standards

This.
There's a reason he didn't include them in the newer editions.

Re: Overcoming Gravity book release

Could you elaborate on this? I always thought of it more like relative strength versus absolute strength.

Re: Speed pulls

I noticed you didn't take the slack out of the bar; is that just a preference thing or is it better specifically for speed pulls?

Also, since it's a relatively light weight, is your grip double...

Re: Anybody have any great results using Wendler 5 3 1?

Starting Strength. Only because it's all lifting and no conditioning.

Re: An Effective, Yet Simple Strength and Conditioning Program

Continue to increase the weight until you are no longer able to do so. Then reset and repeat at least once.

Re: Question about rests in between sets

Take as much time as you need without going cold.
I personally cap my rest time at 10min, because at that point I'm just procrastinating.

As far as Crossfitting at a globo gym; it's entirely...

Re: Conditioning to get you through December

It's funny you should bring this up, because I plan on (re)starting conditioning next week using (primarily) kettlebells. The Winter time frame is purely coincidental.

Re: Coming off a 2month break

Why not just go back to 5/3/1 since you're already familiar with it? You could also use this (http://www.t-nation.com/strength-training-topics/1316) to get a full body workout. It's only 3 days a...

Re: Help on Zone

Why do you think you require the same amount of calories as your coach when he's shorter and weighs less than you?

Re: Kipping PU article in Men's Health

That is strange because this is the first time I've ever heard that.
Far too often people can do very few dead hang pull ups, but can knock out a substantial amount of kipping pull ups.

Re: Technique for Gripping the Bar in the Squat? SS vs. Westside

Agreed. I'll keep squatting until my legs break.

I think I've said it before, but I felt some elbow pain whenever the bar is more resting in my hand than when I have my hand on top of the bar.

Re: Technique for Gripping the Bar in the Squat? SS vs. Westside

I've had minor issues with coming a bit forward, but I'm pretty sure it's my form and not so much the set up. It's rare, but it happens.

I have also noticed a difference from pinning the bar to...

Re: Disinfecting equipment - how frequently?

I hope they don't consider those to be "battle scars."

Maybe it's just the CrossFit environment, or maybe I've learned, but I haven't ripped a callus or scrapped my shins since I was part of an...
