also high rates should be generated at the back of the stroke i.e with speed of the handle going round the stomach. This gives high spm without losing range of movement.

40 strokes a minute isn't impossible but it isn't too sensible a tactic unless your seriously lite (as in sub 72kg). Top lightweights will pull 2ks at close to 40spm because they don't have the power...

I'm in the Brit reserves (not SOF) and to ruck or not to ruck is a vexatious topic for us. I've been told (by tier 1 personnel) to avoid it like the plague as doing it with any regularity...
