Re: My latest article - PML for Optimized Recovery

Interesting article. It reminds me of a chapter in Bill Starr's The Strongest Shall Survive.

Re: maintaining my CSCS

This is incorrect. It was (and is) not mandated that you attend an NSCA-sanctioned event. I have had my CSCS for over a decade and have never attended an NSCA-sanctioned event. I have, however,...

Re: A Christian CrossFit?

Do you see how this attitude may be viewed as condescending?

What if a non-religious person stated that they welcomed the opportunity to "help" a christian "in need" and share the love of reason,...

Re: Strikeforce "Nashville" predictions

So you think Mo gassed and just layed on Mousasi? What about Mousasi laying in guard for 25 minutes? He didn't do anything.

Re: Strikeforce "Nashville" predictions

Aoki was doing his "boot scoot" and the ref was behind Melendez, Melendez was facing Aoki. The ref came in to stand up Aoki, but was behind Melendez, so only Aoki saw him coming in. Just as this...

I don't consider FOX News or MSNBC news sources, they are more like entertainment sources.

Re: Lifting weights benefits breast cancer survivors

The point is that by being in the NEJM, this information can start to be accepted as standard medical practice.

Re: Limited Window for Effective Use of Mark Ripptoe's Rehab Method? (link safe 4 wor

Steven, I have a different perspective, at least with muscle belly injuries.

I successfully used Rip's rehab method to heal a hamstring injury.

I strained my hamstring performing the back squat. ...

Re: 43x275 Deadlifts @ Dirty South

Yes, that is what the video showed. It looks like it was stricly enforced. I didn't see every second of the video, but the judges looked to be eagle-eyeing each lifter.

Re: 43x275 Deadlifts @ Dirty South

Wow, that video shows fairly strict deadlifting. I thought I was going to see the bouncing bumper plate "dead"lifts that are commonly seen on CF videos. Great job!

Re: Four Decades of Lifting Video Clip...

I have heard the same special praise for the Nautilus Pullover, from a former Pro and NCAA strength coach who believes in mostly basic barbell lifts.

Re: Today's Main Page Video - 4/21/09

I do not disagree. I was referring specifically to topic of the thread, having seen bouncing DLs while using bumper plates in the main page video.

Tom,

With higher intensity exercise, she will have more of a catecholamine (adrenaline) response compared to the lower intensity of LSD. This causes a mobilization of glucose into the blood, hence...

Re: Zone ?

The total calories in a zone block will be 77 at a minimum (actually 91 because a fat block is 3 grams). It is hard to eat a meal made up of only CHO in the CHO blocks, PRO only in the PRO blocks,...

Re: The Zone Dieting: Does it Really Work?

1) a fat block is 3 grams
2) you will consume other macronutrients (and therefore more calories) in a given block e.g. one block of protein may contain some CHO and fat, depending on the type of...

Re: cutting weight for mma

It is hard to tell exactly from a photo, but I'd say you are about 7%-10% body fat.

If you are 180 lbs hydrated, that means you have between 167.4 lbs lean, hydrated mass (if 7% BF) and 162 lbs...
