Re: Intensity vs. Capacity for doing all WODs Rx

This will drop very quickly with effort in each WOD, eating and sleeping enough. My first Fran took about 7 and a half minutes and that was with 88lb thrusters. It only took about 18 months of MPCF...

Re: Leg discrepancy

Cheers Steven, I'll get right on it. Is ice a bit meh with regards to this injury? And once I've had it manipulated, should I just follow common sense and wait til I'm completely...

Re: Leg discrepancy

Update:

I haven't worked out for a few weeks now, and kept up a routine of downward dog stretching of my lower back, ice, tennis ball rolling, fish oil and ibuprofen. Last night I read Steven's...

Re: Leg discrepancy

I see. I had a look at NUCCAs website, and unfortunately my nearest practitioner is in London so nothing will be done in the immediate future. Do you know what this realignment involves? The FAQ...

Re: Leg discrepancy

Mike, what could have happened to C1 and SI to have caused my problems? I've had pretty poor posture my whole life, which I've started to address so I guess it's going to be that. I can't imagine...

Leg discrepancy

So last week I was diagnosed by the chiro as having mild scoliosis due to my left leg being shorter than the other by about 1/4 inch. In addition to never foam-rolling, rarely stretching and...

Re: Interesting development...

As another stomachly-aware person, it sounds to me like you may simply have been full of food when your stomach was sticking out. When my bf is low enough to have decent definition and I've just had...

Re: Rotational Exercises: Not represented in CrossFit

Have you read Bulletproof Abs by Pavel? He has some excellent (and damned difficult) methods of working your obliques. I'm currently doing linear progression 3x5 (each side) on the one where you...

Re: fastest 50 burpees

1:35 is unreal. He must have just motored right through, and at a quick pace too. Puts into perspective just why combat athletes really are amongst the fittest people around.

Re: Paleo Coffee???

"What's with..." is just general wonderment. I've just used milk and never given it a second thought, which lead me to wonder why americans bother with cream. It's not shocking, my heart rate is as...

Re: Paleo Coffee???

No, Renee, I don't. A splash of milk in your coffee will hardly add up calorie-wise even if you have a few cups a day, whereas cream will.

Ask 100 people in America what dairy product goes in...

Re: Paleo Coffee???

What's the deal with cream in coffee in America? I've never seen anybody in the UK use anything but milk. Have you tried it? It tastes just fine, and a little dash of milk every now and then isn't...

Re: Ideas for WODs as a no-equipment crash-course in Crossfit?

Agreed, I'd cut that to 8 or 10 rounds, it'll still smoke her plenty.

Re: fastest 50 burpees

2 minutes is legit. I guess it comes down to how many reps you can get in before needing to break. 33 is my best. Can you remember your split? In 2 minutes you may not have broken at all...

Re: Strength gains while leaning out?

I like to make my own wraps for when I'm on the go. Basically canned tuna with enough mayo to make it stick together, wrapped up with chopped cucumber and pepper in nori sheets (seaweed - negligible...

I'm no expert on programming. There's no reason why you can't get stronger using your own bodyweight though, perhaps through handstand push-ups, one-arm push-ups, pistols and suchlike.

Re: Omega Ratio

Do you mean with EPA fish oil? I take 9 capsules of those daily, equating to 1620mg of EPA and 1080mg of DHA.

Omega Ratio

If most of your fat intake comes from animal fat attached to meat and from egg yolks, will your omega 3 to 6 ratio be ok? I ony ask because I eat 3 meals a day for the vast majority of days, and most...

Re: BCAA Dose

Darryl - normally I'm a supplement-free zone (aside from fish oil), but I figure that BCAAs would be a way of getting protein in without wanting to throw up real food after a workout. Thanks for the...

Re: Help me come up with a balanced schedule

You say you want to increase endurance and strength. Well following Crossfit is probably the best routine to follow in order to encompass both of those goals, considering how they are at opposite...
