Re: My Unoffical Guide to Starting CFFB

Great write-up, thanks for the effort! Had to lol at one comment though...

I've dabbled in SEAL Fit before and wow, were we doing different programs? Killed me with volume.

Re: Epic Workout Fail

Nothing wrong with hitting a little extra movement in your day, why the hate? Let's be honest, most people today would benefit from a few extra shopping bag curls in their lives...

Re: Gslp

I hate to be like this, but really? The creator of the program has created something you find valuable. He is also selling the program for around $30 dollars in a convient e-book format you can...

Re: Help me pick a strength program

Don't fix what ain't broke man. If you do wanna switch things up other popular strength-bias programs are Grayskull and Crossfit Football but honestly if you're making progress with 5/3/1 then why...

Re: GSLP 2nd edition

I'd do less honestly, you want it to feel easy. My 1-set max for pushups is 50 and I do 2 ladders of 5, 10, 10 and it feels very easy. But what it's allowing you to do is get some volume (i.e. I'm...

Re: GSLP 2nd edition

It seems like it's laid out in a way that's more easily understood. The "base" program of the big lifts is just that, a simple foundation and then there are more plug-ins depending on what you want...

Re: Stretching while lifting?

I definitely do stretch between sets...just feels good to my muscles. Usually happens the most during warmups to specific lifts.

Re: Private Crossfit Gym Ideas

Sounds like what you're talking about is a co-op. I've definitely thought about setting something like that up, I think it's a good way for a group of people to pool their resources in order to get...

Re: Men's Watch

I set my G-shock to intervals of whatever I want, less than 1 minute is no big deal. I have a G-2310 for what it's worth.

Re: What constitutes an unbroken set?

Seems like you might have started too low if you're more than 100# off your max to start with. What I did was set myself back 4 weeks (i.e. 20lbs on squat) from my 5RM so I could work back into it...

Re: What constitutes an unbroken set?

From reading the ebook and the SV message boards, seems like the easiest way to say it is "go until you know the next rep will fail." For me, if it takes 6-9 seconds between squat reps near the end...

Re: Combining gslp and crossfit

Honestly doing the linebacker variant of GLSP as outlined in the ebook is exactly what you're talking about. Just substitute you're box's short metcons for the 2-3x per week conditioning that's part...

Re: Air Force

Eglin AFB has a CF affiliate (Lightning Crossfit (http://lightningcrossfit.com/)) and at Hurlburt Field there is a decent crossfit following as well.

Link is WFS.

Re: Prowler vs sled

Seems interesting...good price point for a prowler. Can't seem to find anything on their website...looks to still be under development. Do they have a legit listing of equipment and prices or are...

Re: Prowler vs sled

How are you guys hooking up a harness to the Butcher? It looked like there wasn't an attachment point on the front from the pics I've seen.

Re: women's VFFs for men

When I got mine, I got women's sized because based on the size chart I could fit either a smaller men's size or a large women's size and they were out of the men's size. I noticed no difference at...

Re: left/right usage

I'm mostly right-handed (sports, etc.), although I write and brush my teeth left-handed.

Mixed grip is left palm out, split jerk is left foot forward.

Re: Rogue Dog Sled reviews?

Seems like it has a smaller surface area according to Rogue...not sure how that's the case...maybe the width is much smaller than the typical width of prowler feet? IDK...I've asked in several...

Re: I'm a FAT BODY in need of Help!!!

This is exactly why most people don't take BMI seriously. Who would look at a 5'7" male weighing 118 pounds and say "that's a normal, healthy weight." Seriously? If 159 is the highest "normal...

Re: Prowler 2 or Econo Prowler

What are the main differences in use between the dogsled and the butcher from Rogue? They are priced basically the same so I'm curious why a company would choose to make two products that seemingly...
