Gymnast have a stronger upper body....for gymnastics....weightlifters for the Oly ifts and most over head and powerlifters have the strongest bench.....

strength is a skill and very specific at that...

Only one way to find out buddy, give each a go for a couple for a couple of months...you may even find that a period of each works wonders for you...volume and intensity are not the only variables...

I would personally use one of those hours to kick back relax and recover....body progresses at rest, not during a workout....

Muscle tissue recovery can happen uninterrupted with continued exercise BUT performance will not be up to par due to other aspects of the muscle as a whole not recovering...calcium pumps/nerves etc...

Anytime strength is increased then endurance CAN be improved...it's an economy of effort thing;

more strength means less effort in all things, so yes, being stronger will help WOD's....black box...

Programme hopping won't resolve the issue really.

Although 20 reps squats is a great programme you best not be trying it with the same frequency as SS.

I cant offer advice on them as I dont have them, but I can tell you that my 20 set of rings made by a local blacksmith are still going strong nearly ten years down the line:)
