Re: Creatine absorbtion

Dextrose works well, You can put a scoop of creatine and two tablespoons of dextrose in your cup where it can sit until you add water pwo.

Re: 5RM Vs 1RM

Take a heavy weight you can only lift 3 or 4 times, lift it as many times as you can, then input it into this formula...

(weight x reps)x .0333 + weight = projected 1rm

Re: Gillian Mounsey Article

One thing I noticed is that Gillian came into crossfit big and strong and was crushing most others from the beginning. She then began to listen to others who told her that she was "too big and bulky...

Re: Ideal body fat % for CF athletes?

I have to admit that it took me a long time to allow myself to carry a little bit more body fat. I walked around for a good two years at 6 - 8% and was wondering why my lifts were suffering.

Re: Crossfitter in Ninja Warrior?

Interesting, Seems somewhat coincidental that Carl Paoli from crossfit 801 just submitted an audition to Ninja Warrior. You can view the vid on the 801 blog or on youtube.

interesting, I've always done my power cleans with identical form to my deadlift as well. I am going to give dropping my hips a try as well

Re: Non-False Grip Muscle Ups?

If the rings were set up just out of reach, I don't see how someone couldn't adjust to a false grip at the top of their first muscle up, and continue from there with a false grip for the remainder of...

I have an issue with my L5. First noticed when I was eight when I put my back out while swimming.

I have been dealing with it to the best of my abilities with proper training and mechanics...

Re: Intensity vs. Capacity for doing all WODs Rx

I guess then we have to find out what the OP's one rep max is. 225 was nowhere near my 80 - 90% of my one rep max deadlift coming in to crossfit however I was not adapted to lifting 225 for a high...

Re: Intensity vs. Capacity for doing all WODs Rx

I second that.

When I first got into Crossfit I pretty much did all my heavy deadlifts one at a time. I considered 225 lb deadlift and 135 pound cleans to be heavy but I did it and the...

Re: Cleans in 'Grace'

Right on thanks Jamie.

I'm pretty sure my technique is fairly decent, but yes I am always working on it and have been making some really good progress lately, but thank you.

Re: Suggestions for mobility/stretching/"exercise" drills upon waking in the morning.

That's great.

I stretch like that (well, kind of) while I'm sitting in class all day watching "death by power point" lectures.

The video's great but I fear many of us will get too distracted...

In the Spealler vs Khalipa video, as well in Miranda Oldroyd's work out Vid from a couple of days ago I noticed Chris and Miranda were doing similar warm up movements. I am intrigued and would like...

Re: Confused and frustrated

Ariel.... From the look of things you are doing great. Bear in mind that the top performers such as Miranda have also spent YEARS getting to where they are and you are definitely on the right path.
