Did I miss the boat with Pendlay???

Okay, so maybe this is old news, but apparently Muscle Driver/Pendlay went BANKRUPT!?!?

I guess I haven't been on their website since the beginning of the year, and just today I find out that all of...

Re: Best barbell for box use?

Question (maybe this is a stupid question and I'm just missing something):

Why does Fringesport have the Wonder Bar available with for $219 with bearings, but their fancy "Vaughn" bar for $400 is a...

Re: Best barbell for box use?

Is this real? That would be a reason right there to never buy one.

Rogue will go out of their way to make you happy. Sounds like Eleiko is trying to go out of their way to not follow through with...

Re: Crossfit ting from home

+1.

I don't understand guys that make comments like "I want to follow a coach's programming, but I also want to add in some strength work". Do you want to follow a professional's experienced/proven...

Re: Mainsite Programing

I know I'm screwing this quote up, but I remember something about either Pendlay or Rippetoe bashing Crossfit, by stating that that Crossfit is "exercising" but not "training".

When it comes to Main...

Re: comprehensive barbell list 2015

Well, Pendlay's lifetime warranty clearly states that performance issues such as collar spin are covered by their lifetime warranty. If that's the case, then durability of lubricants in the collar...

Re: comprehensive barbell list 2015

Nothing in your comment refutes anything that I posted. I didn't say anything about Elieko's reputation - that has nothing to do with whether grease is better then oil or not. And do you have any...

Re: comprehensive barbell list 2015

I guess I'm not sure why the grease would be an advantage. If it's useful temperature range is much lower than an oil that other bars use, then it makes it a less-useful barbell. And I'm not sure...

Re: 2015 CrossFit Open, Regionals, and Games Thread

Well said. I understand your point.

So, it seems if I understand you correctly, that in your opinion, that most Crossfitters care more about being competitive (either in their respective boxes, or...

Re: comprehensive barbell list 2015

I agree. I have had the Klokov bar for about 3-4 months, and it's the first bar with a center knurl that I've had. I actually like it. I do think it's slightly more aggressive than the rest of the...

Re: 2015 CrossFit Open, Regionals, and Games Thread

I totally disagree. At one point, at least, the Crossfit Games were supposed to find "the fittest person on earth", not the person who is best at doing Crossfit.

I guess maybe that's changed, if...

Re: 2015 CrossFit Open, Regionals, and Games Thread

I totally agree with you here. I have kind of gotten away from the "stereotypical" Crossfit workout, because I don't like some of the kooky Crossfit movements - Handstand walks, Double Unders,...

Re: Progenex fails to meet label claims.

I don't workout at a box, so I can't say from experience, but are there actually CF'ers that swear that Progenex is better than other proteins? If so, do they use it because they think it works...

Re: Power Washing Horse Stall mats

They are made for 1000-1200lb. horses to stand on for long periods of time. A little power washing isn't going to hurt them.

Re: 2015 CrossFit Open, Regionals, and Games Thread

In last year's Regionals event that required "squat cleans", they specifically mentioned that a Power Clean followed by a Front Squat was allowed, so why would a Deadlift/Hang Clean variant in the...

Re: 2015 CrossFit Open, Regionals, and Games Thread

Can you please point-out where it is stated that it must be "one fluid lift"? If that's part of the standard, or if there is anywhere that they specifically mention "no hang cleans", then I missed...

Re: Why No Powerlifting at the Games?

Also agree. Maybe this is just my opinion, but a PL back squat (as long as good form standards are enforced) is much more about pure strength than an OHS - which takes a lot more technique, balance,...

Re: Why No Powerlifting at the Games?

I completely agree. Any argument of "because that's not exciting" goes totally out the window when we consider some of the super-boring events the already are used at the Games.

Maybe the...

Re: Why No Powerlifting at the Games?

That would be a great idea, and, although I agree that it favors the big guys, it's no different than a muscle-up event favoring the little guys. Did you happen to see Foucher vs. Lauren Brooks in...

Re: AF/Klokov stuff

Two Comments:

1) After 3 weeks of use, I really like this bar. Granted, this is my first bearing bar, but the spin is incredible compared to a bushing bar. The knurling is very good; I didn't like...

Re: crossfitweightlifting.com

Thanks. Even still, though, those very long CF workouts 6 days per week is a ton of volume. Does Burgener recommend doing all the CF workouts?

Re: crossfitweightlifting.com

I first looked-up their website after Froning mentioned it as well. Maybe this is a stupid question, but does Burgener have a "Beginner's Guide" on that website? i.e. How is the programming...

Re: What do you think of Functional Patterns...?

Yeah, I agree. I just watched the video - the guy makes a little bit of sense, but at the same time, takes a REALLY long time time to get to those points, all the while using a lot of fluff-words...

Re: Nike Metcon

That's quite a statement about a shoe that's been field-tested for - what - a couple of weeks at most? What data do you have that the Nano's are "inferior"? Just because everyone's talking-up this...

Re: Nike Metcon

Yeah, I have to agree with this.

I don't care much about my shoes either, and have never owned a pair of Nano's. But all the hype about this Nike Metcon got me thinking about getting a "real"...
