Re: Your 2010 Crossfit Games competitor "Power Trio Of Hotness" list

Re: 2015 CrossFit Open, Regionals, and Games Thread

Just saw on Mitch Barnard's instagram that there are rumors of only reebok gear being allowed at regionals. Has anyone else heard or seen anything about this? If it's true it seems pretty absurd to...

Re: AF/Klokov stuff

I was fortunate enough to compete at the Risto Sports meet in Las Vegas where they used these bars and plates for the competition. The kneeling on the bar was extremely nice, I train on a Pendlay...

Re: 2014 CrossFit Open, Regionals, and Games Thread

Yes they were more heavy than previous games. I'm sorry if I misinterpreted your quote, but it read to me as you saying that they were gymnastics heavy in general, not in comparison to previous games.

Re: 2014 CrossFit Open, Regionals, and Games Thread

I would disagree that this years Games had a heavy gymnastics focus. The regionals absolutely did, however, The games were very balanced if you add up the numbers of Monostructural, Gymanastics, and...

Re: 2014 CrossFit Open, Regionals, and Games Thread

Lucas was Sick. He stated it on his twitter and facebook accounts that he was "feeling better" on Saturday, but still not 100%.

Re: 2014 CrossFit Open, Regionals, and Games Thread

I'm thinking 1 will be a push and one will be a pull.

Re: Weightlifting shoes?

The 2 inserts are stated as being "Training" and "Competition". I have always used the Competition inserts, which are studied and harder but a little bit more uncomfortable for longer durations than...

Re: 17 Years old, PR 200Lb Clean

Yeah. I've read Medvedyev's book which gives all the percentages you should be at for the classic lifts in relation to the assistance strength lifts. Both of my classic lifts are well above my squat...

Re: 17 Years old, PR 200Lb Clean

Thanks! Yeah my front squat is a pretty lagging point, which is why I'm doing LSUS again with a bias on leg strength. Hopefully I can get it to catch up, but it seems like anytime I put weight into...

Re: 17 Years old, PR 200Lb Clean

The answer to both of those questions is. I do all my squats to that depth with a neutral spine. That weight just basically crippled me, especially considering it was a PR Front Squat as well.

Re: 17 Years old, PR 200Lb Clean

I'm about to go into the LSUS 12 week Cycle for the second time, so there will definitely be a substantial amount of snatch grip deads, as well as muscle cleans and snatches.

Re: 17 Years old, PR 200Lb Clean

I've been doing a substantial amount of Bent over Rows. As well as 3 Stop Pulls with my shoulders pulled back to recruit those muscles and strengthen the position. In addition, I'll throw in some...

Re: 17 Years old, PR 200Lb Clean

Thanks Michael. I have trouble keeping my upper back tight at the start and that leads me into the second pull a little early. I'm trying to work on it but my upper back is really weak...

17 Years old, PR 200Lb Clean

Hey guys! Yesterday I managed to hit one of my long term goals of a 200Lb Clean. In the open last year, my PR was 125, so it's been a long road. I'm 160# right now and turned 17 about 2 months ago. I...

Re: Training for Muscular Endurance

EMOM Work is awesome for that scenario. Pick a number of reps to do EMOM for a goal duration of 10-15 minutes. Once you are able to accomplish that number of reps, up the workload by 1 each minute....

Re: 2014 CrossFit Open, Regionals, and Games Thread

Masters qualifying WOD's released! I like them. The Row/HSPU looks like a lot of fun. I think it's a good test to go on to the games.

Re: To Smolov or Not To Smolov
