Re: Intermittent Fasting - thoughts?

True. My post-workout meal to break the fast normally contains 85g - 100g protein. If I have even a moderate amount of carbs, I want to go out and kick puppies after a while.

Hard training on IF...

Re: Intermittent Fasting - thoughts?

I've had this experience as well. Even if I go into the workout feeling a bit depleted, that goes away soon enough. I'm still hitting metcon PRs after the weights as well (not always, but fairly...

Re: Intermittent Fasting - thoughts?

Hey Evan -- I'm doing Korte right now (Week 4) plus a short (< 10 minutes) metcon at the end and am doing them fasted with no ill effects.

Fasted WODs and heavy lifting are not to be feared :) .

Re: strength gains and overeating

Re: strength gains and overeating

Hi Robert,

Like you, before I found Crossfit, I was eating > lifting >eating > lifting to get bigger and stronger. Unfortunately, bigger seemed to surpass stronger after a while. I feel your...

Re: Intermittent Fasting - thoughts?

Go for it.

I do a 15-to-21-hour fast almost every day. Perhaps two or three days a month I won't fast. WODs and lifting are always done fasted and I try to make sure I have a big high-protein meal...

Re: Just wanted to point out another horribly written Anti Paleo article!!!

I don't think it is the worst article ever written but ones like this are naturally going to incite a holy war. As someone who has followed both a strict Paleo diet (with great success) and...

I donate blood fairly regularly and haven't experienced any ill effects when doing a wod or a hard bike ride a couple of hours afterward.

Re: What to do with chicken fat.

Cook your eggs in it if you don't have bacon fat.

I roasted two turkeys for my wife's office party. My fee was all the skin and fat (along with a nice chunk of dark meat).

Re: so, what did you have for dinner tonight?

Yow -- last night I made pizza for everyone (heavy on the meaty toppings, but pizza nonetheless).

Tonight will be better - steamed veggies topped with meat sauce.

Re: Change of lifestyle questions

Intermittent fasting + paleo + crossfit = the changes in body composition you want. Probably the best thing you can do right now is eliminate all grains from your diet and up the meat and veggies....

Re: 100 Burpee Challenge

Wrapped up day 96 last night and will do 97 this afternoon. I missed Christmas Eve so I gave myself a Christmas present of 189 burpees (3 x 63).

Actually, these are saving my crossfitting hide since...

Re: 100 Burpee Challenge

Day 83 is a wrap.

I have been separating the WOD and the burpees, but since day 80 I've been doing WODs that incorporate burpees and lots of 'em, even if it is a strength WOD (for example, doing...

Re: 100 Burpee Challenge

I had planned to do the Mt. Baker challenge, but got sideswiped by the flu. Instead, I'm going to regroup and start on 9/22 (should be better by then). 100 days will have me doing 100 burpeess on New...

Re: Intensity vs. Diet

Hi Jesse,

If your girlfriend is serious about changing the way she eats, she'll have to develop the discipline to politely refuse/not go near the office crack. As has been stated previously, diet is...
