Re: I'm back to square one with my WODs thanks Wendler System and stupid me!!!!

I know this is an old post, but as an older guy, I have to disagree with some of the other posters. If your goal is to get stronger, focus on that. One or two cycles of 531 is not going to get you...

Re: Belt for Metcon?

Given that the effectiveness of a belt correlates with use of the Valsalva, and that it is probably not feasible to hold your breath on each rep in a met con, I think the belt is unlikely to be of...

Re: which option is better for the squatting challenged?

I would not relax your core or back extension in order to get deeper. Some butt wink at the bottom will gradually disappear as flexibility and technique improve, but if its causing pain, this is not...

Re: Paleo and nut butter

Optimally, replace with protein and carbs (eg, sweet potatoes). Carbs are anabolic.

Re: Possible to train both max strength and endurance?

I don't think your goals are incompatible. If you achieve Priority 1, Priority 2 will be ridiculously easy.

Here's an old thread for some training ideas...

Re: Back Squat and Deadlift Form Check?

Daniel,

Squats look pretty good. Bar position looks about right and you are really driving your knees out. Good job. I think you could sit back even more, which will cause you to bend over at the...

Re: Question regarding paleo

Some people trying to gain do a Paleo + dairy approach.

Re: Squatting, Knees First?

Actually, the knees do go past the toes on a HBBS. This may be the only time I've ever disagreed with you (wfs):

You'll probably get a better response on the Digital Coaching Thread.

Re: Checking Squat Form

Tim,

I thought these squats were a significant improvement. I can't really judge the bar position on your back, but the mechanics of keeping the bar over your mid-foot suggests that it is...

Re: Checking Squat Form

I only watched your last set, but noticed several things.

1. Really lift your chest hard/set your lower back. It looks a little soft.

2. It looks like your bar is a bit high on your back,...

Re: Paleo. Where to start?

Refer to Shane's link for what and what not to eat. One of the best things about the Paleo Diet is that you don't need a plan. Eat when hungry, stop when full. Choose foods as noted above. If...

Re: Imitating Pukie the Clown

You're right. This is not remotely scientific. I'd like to see an example of any high level athlete that pukes regularly in training. By this measure, you should be an Olympian. I don't dispute...

Just to save Darryl the trouble, he's going to point out that elite endurance athletes have a higher protein need than other athletes.
