Re: Crossover Symmetry or similar

I have had CS about 6 months. Had a wonky left shoulder. Zero pain now. It's one of the things that even my lazy *** won't skip out on. I do it before every workout, and leave the set at my gym...

Re: USAW Standard

Most of the time, I believe either of those two lifts would get red lights at a national or international level meet. Referees at local meets can be a little more forgiving, and it's certainly...

Spun Performance Clearance

Hey guys just a heads up, I just got an email that Spun Perrformance is clearing out their current compression gear at 50% off. Coupon code is "Inwiththenew". Just used it and it worked for shorts,...

Re: Should I stick to 3 days on smolov instead of 4?

Doing Smolov 3 days a week along with a weekly open workout isn't Smolov. It's "Nada Hassan's Squat Program that resembles 75% of Smolov and includes the 2015 CrossFit Open workouts"

Smolov is a...

Re: getting stuck at the bottom of a squat clean?

Smolov Jr.

with pauses?

No. Don't do that. Especially if you are doing any other work at all during the week.

Re: Do you really need a perfect oly lifting form ?

1. You can't

2. What do you tell a lifter that just C&J'd 2x BW with tons of technical flaws? "Good job!"

Re: Do you really need a perfect oly lifting form ?

If your olympic lifting goals are to simply be able to do Grace or Isabel then no, of course you don't need perfect or even barely efficient form.

However many in CrossFit have more difficult to...

Re: Bill Henniger! Get in here and answer once and for all!

We got Pendlay 2x5 vertical bar storage racks for our box. I found some rubber washers with a 2" O.D. that fit snugly in the bottom of each tube. It definitely seems to relieve the metal on metal...

Bill Henniger! Get in here and answer once and for all!

Is there anything dangerous, or even just non-optimal about storing a quality barbell (bushing or bearing) on-end in a storage stand as opposed to horizontally. Everyone seems to be sure that they...

Re: 3rd Bar Options

So this. You have a great bar with a lifetime warranty. Unless you have money burning a hole in your pocket, just use your bar.

Of course if you really think the knurl is too aggressive for high...

Re: Muscle up help

I'm going to go against the grain here and say that I never used the false grip for kipping muscle ups. I do use it for strict muscle ups however.

I think the best thing you can do is keep...

Re: Any tips for squatting and keeping back straighter/more vertical.

So very much this. It looks like you are running out of ankle flexibility and that stops your shins from tilting forward far enough to allow an upright torso at the bottom, as well as pulling your...

Re: Pull Boxes

Tim how many of each (3-layer and 5-layer) blocks did you make to get them high enough to act as jerk blocks?

Re: Best Equipment Package For Affiliate

This is great advice.

I ordered all our loose equipment from MDUSA, on their black friday sale, and got a Monster Lite rig/accessories from Rogue.

Re: New bar

Well Rogue has hinted that the bar will be offered with or without a mild center knurl and that they will likely be seeking IWF certification :yikes:

Re: Ring Muscle Up Help

Thanks Snir. Once I learned to lean way back, strict muscle ups became nearly routine.

Re: Ring Muscle Up Help

You are pulling with a really vertical torso. Nearly impossible to get over the rings like that. Try to get into a good hollow position with your torso leaned way back at about 45 degree...

Re: New bar

The new Oly bar doesn't appear to have a center knurl, which I believe is a requirement of an IWF legal bar. But that photo may not be a final production model either so who knows.

Re: New bar

Rogue already makes the Westside Power Bar, as well as their Rogue Power Bar. The Westside bar gets great reviews.

Re: The Official Smolov Support Thread

Started day 2 of the base mesocycle yesterday

Definitely was a mental challenge for the 3rd and 4th sets.

7x5x270lb.

Starting to feel like a bit of a grind, but plugged through. Left calf a little sore but not too bad. Not exactly eagerly anticipating 10...
