Re: Paleo and Strength Loss

If you want to have strength, you need to eat carbs. Until someone wins an oly weightlifting medal or wins the 100 meter sprint at an elite level while on the paleo diet, I am going to stick to...

Re: Jukari Classes

Looks like a geriatric routine to me. No power development and none of the exercises I saw will build muscle.

I walk down ocean Avenue along Palisades Park in Santa Monica sometimes and almost...

Re: Name this exercise (hang snatch with close grip)

^^^Thanks Adam. Just watched a few vids of it. Better name IMO than 'clean grip snatch'.

Re: Name this exercise (hang snatch with close grip)

Neither one of those exercises you linked to work the shoulders like this exercise does. And I have deformed and weakened shoulders from pretty severe ac separations. I know well what exercises...

Re: Do you go to another gym AND Crossfit?

I have to agree with Kevin. My recommendation is quit the affiliate and do your own workouts at the gym.

Re: high intensity vs. low intensity training, continued

For me low intensity training is something I do ALL the time. I walk, I am a furniture mover (mostly boxes, some pianos). I bike. I dance.

High intensity training I do only occasionally.

Re: Can someone explain to me...(about a 63 y/o gymnast, impressive)

I'm just saying, he looked really stiff when he jogged, but very agile and nimble when he tumbled. It was a striking contrast IMO.

Can someone explain to me...(about a 63 y/o gymnast, impressive)

Re: Gymnastics vs Track Longevity: Weight Baring ROM Movements=Wear and Tear

Look for a track masters and there will be a whole fields...

Gymnastics vs Track Longevity: Weight Baring ROM Movements=Wear and Tear

I have been on here before debating the benefits of full range of motion exercises baring weight like heavy snatch's, deep squats, etc.

Today I have been watching masters track and field and these...
